Physical Speed is Mental Speed

I was fast. Faster than a cheetah. I was even faster than the speed of sound.

Have you ever heard the words "Think fast"? Basically, I can run faster than sound and I have a minimal reaction time. I also have a sense of balance as Thomas always needs to sort out his work and well, balance out his time and energy.

When I first realized I had this strange ability, I was both stunned and fascinated. It was only about four years after I was in the mind, but I found it so bizarre and strange, that I kept it hidden until I could fully manifest control.

And not to brag, but I don't want to seem like an overpowered trait.

I have now. Still, I am keeping it hidden and I will not tell the others until any further notice.

With that thought out of the way, I must to and help Patton prepare dinner.

On my way down, both Roman and Anxiety ran past me causing me to trip an miss a step, but before I could fall, I was stood in a pirouette on the edge of a stair. Nobody was on the stairs anymore so I wasn't seen. I stepped down and helped prepare the plates.

Though, with just my luck, one of the plate dropped behind me and in a swift motion, I caught it. This was semi special because at the rate it fell at, nobody could've caught it even if the tried. Patton was facing the sink and Anxiety and Roman were on their phones at the table.

Again, I wasn't caught. Thank god.

We ate and I was the last to clean the table which I didn't really mind since I could just run up to my room. And even then, I was done cleaning and even washed the dishes in about to minutes.

I marveled at my work and was about to run before I heard footsteps on the stairs.

A happy looking Patton jumped down the stairs and walked over to me. He looked around.

"What? How are you..... wait, how are you done? I was up there for about three minutes. This would've taken and hour at the least." I bit my lip. What could I say?

"Um. I-" He gave me that fatherly glare. That one where you could say anything and your parents never believe you.

"Logan, what are you not telling me?" I just stared. I just tried. I couldn't tell him now.

"C-can I tell you tomorrow? Is.. is that good?" I probably looked like a child by now. I stared at my shoes while fiddling with the him of my shirt. I was twisting back and forth slightly also.

He sighed.

"Fine, but if you don't say it tomorrow, you're grounded." I looked up wide-eyed .

"Grounded?!For what?!" I didn't want to face his punishment. It was practically torture!

"For lying to an adult"

"Patton, I am an adult"

"Still, I and your father and you have no right to lie to me"

He wasn't entirely wrong. He was technically my creator or father figure as I "grew up" in the mind space.

"Fine. I promise I will explain tomorrow" And with that, we nodded and headed to our rooms.

After hours, I was finally growing tired and headed off to bed.

The next morning, I heard yelling. I looked at my clock only to see that it was noon. How did I sleep in?!

Whatever. I got up and got ready, but there was this small sense. I felt as if something will happen that may end terribly.

Not much ever really does. Just in rare cases. I don't know. I just feel odd.

I pushed it aside and readied myself in my normal attire. I headed downstairs and made a coffee.

All went well and a certain Prince just had to ruin it.

Princey PoV-

This was dangerous. I really didn't want to wake Logan. Sadly, Anxiety was yelling at me about a potion I was trying to handle.

If it broke or even opened the smallest bit, all memory would be wiped out from the mind and Thomas would have immediate amnesia.

"Anxiety, if you keep yelling, I'm probably gonna end up dropping it!" The stupid part was that if we touched the bottle, we'd straight up fade from existence in a blink. If it touched a surface in the mind, Thomas would lose an important memory.

Right now I my handling it with a pair of tongs. Though, I was trembling in fear that I'd drop it... and I did.

It slipped out, but in a flash, a black and tan blur ran past and caught it after taking the tongs from my hands.

It stopped and Anxiety and I stared in awe. Logan stood with the things in one hand while balancing on a tipped chair that was barely rocking. He seemed to have ran into it while.... catching...

"WAIT!" He looked at me fearfully.

"You can... how... what? You just-" I looked behind me and back to the front. "Did you just-"

"Yes, I did Roman before you freak out. Also, before is there a way to get rid of the potion?" He thought for a moment.

"Try throwing it in the Forget Void"

I did as I was told and when I looked back from the edge, behind me was all three of them, arms crossed and intimidating.

"Oh. Right."

"Logan-"

"I know. I know. I'll explain."

I basically explained that I could run faster than the speed of sound and that I had a fast reaction time along with the fact I could balance on the most frail surfaces.

They understood and we headed back.
