Patton has been acting weird lately. He'd be walking normally around the mind, but talking to air.
I mean its like he's having full on conversations with nothing but empty space. I know he's more along the lines of being the most childish side, but this was rediculous. It wasn't like him to do this so suddenly.
I needed to figure this out. This needed to stop. Sometimes he'll make a huge fool of himself.
I would ask him today.
"Patton? May I ask you something? We need to talk." He looked at me and so did Virgil. Virgil nodded.
"Um, sure?" he looked confused alright.
"What's with the imaginary friend?" He looked at me with wide eyes.
"Imaginary? Oh no no no. He is not imaginary. You sure would be talking to him and asking him so many questions if you saw him." I looked at Virgil, then back at Patton.
"This is a 'him'?" He took off his glasses.
"Look through these." I put them on to see.....
"LOGAN?!" Logan looked at me sadly.
"Yeah, its me..." He frowned. (Im so sorry this is against the prompt, but I wanted Roman and Virgil to recognise Logan because its angsty)
"What do you mean Logan? He's been....oh wow....he's been gone for so long and we didn't even know..." I handed Virgil the glasses. He stared in shock.
"Oh my god. Im so sorry Logan. Im so sorry I didn't notice before.
Patton made two other pairs of glasses appear and we both put them on to see Logan was hugging Virgil tightly, crying. Patton and I joined in the hug, but we were all summoned.
"Why are all if you hugging? What happened?" We all separated. We went to our normal spots. "You're all wearing glasses and not just Logan and Patton?"
We stared.
"Y-you...can see...me?"
"Well of course I can. I can see all of you."I took off the glasses. I could still see him.
"I can see him. Guys I can see him!!!"I cheered happily.
"Yeah, of course. Could you not before?" We all shook our heads.
"Thomas, he's been gone out of your head for so long and only Patton could see him because he has his weird magical glasses."I explained.
"What? Why?"
"We don-" Patton cut me off.
"Well, I do. Uhm...would you mind if I said why logan?" Logan nodded.
"Logan, he faded. He faded one night while he was sleeping. I noticed this and was devistated. Before the morning came when Thomas needed Logan, I....I broke the rules..."
"Wait, there are rules?" Thomas seemed very confused, but Virgil and I knew exactly what went on.
"Thomas, those 'rules' do not apply to you at all, but as traits, there are certain things we can and cant do. And if we break a rule, we suffer a terrible consequence."
"Thats not good..."
"And I have to suffer that fate Thomas. Tomorrow morning, you will feel no emotion or happiness. You will feel no fun vibes in activities. Your only responsibility will come from Logan, but barely. Thomas, I broke this biggest rule to make sure you always knew what you were doing." We stared.
"A-and that was?" Thomas's eyes were welling with tears. Virgil immediately ran up and hugged him tight.
"Thomas, I faded myself to bring back Logan. Its against the rules for a trait to bring back or create another trait for the second time."
Virgil finished.
"Once broken, you cannot be fixed."
By now, Thomas was sobbing. He was clutching Virgil's hoodie tight and crying I to it. Logan was sobbing and hugging Patton tight as well. Patton was calm, but I was about to join, Logan, Thomas, and Virgil.
I knew some side effects of fading included not responding to your function as a trait. If Patton was not fading, he would've been bawling.
There was nothing we could do....
