The morning washed over the sky in a hurry. Before Ava knew it, the sunlight was blaring through her curtains and blinding her senseless.

She groaned at the intolerable intensity of the light, muttering profanities as it heightened her headache. The door creaked ajar as another blonde crept into the room.

"Heard you complaining." The sister laughed as she placed the concoction of liquids on the bedside table.

"I'm assuming last night with Rebekah went a little over board, sorry I couldn't come out with you two." Cami continued to comment, brushing the hair tangled infront of avas vision.

"Thank you, for the drink." Ava mumbled as she wedged herself upward more, her eyesight still groggy.

"I don't think you should be thanking me. Maybe thank the person who splashed the money for that gift." The older sibling pointed to the small white box tied with a black bow, that sat on the other side of the bed. Cami chuckled at avas bewildered expression, watching as her eyebrows shot up like a rocket as they raised.

"Elijah called, he wants you to go and check on the paranoid original before he gets out of control apparently." Cami informed the girl as she still sat confused, nodding quietly to what her sister had to say.

Cami left the girl to collect her thoughts, attempting to ignore the humorous expression on her sister face. Ava delicately took the box and the note that went with it, tracing her thumb over the calligraphy of her full name.

She opened the box, after fighting with the bow to allow her to open it for several minutes. A bracelet, one that wrapped around a wrist and was covered in intricate details, was placed softly in the velvety confinements.
She took the note next, tearing the envelope open and addressing what it had said.

'Avangaline, you may trust me- but you can not trust others. The gift is encrusted with vervain, it shall protect you from the things you hate most. I am sorry- Niklaus.'

The penmanship was beautiful, the black ink swirled around the page with each hand gesture- creating extravagant words and little details. Ava looked back at the bracelet she was left with, tracing the thin silver rope as it curled in the box. With slight hesitance, she wove it around her wrist, admiring the way it curved around her skin. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.

She strolled into the vacant abattoir, the only sound emitting from the dirtied sneakers as she plodded further. Immediately she knew where the hybrid would be, secluded in the one room that was only his.

She pushed the door ajar, and admired the canvases covered in various paints. One was of two blue eyes, yet so many shades were captivated in one colour.
