Before Aurora could hurt Ava anymore, Klaus had forced her out and into the cold and brittle air. With their heightened strengths and seething anger, the fight had escalated in seconds.

It was almost humorous to Klaus as Aurora whined and begged for him to remember their love, to remember the power they had.

"I tire of this fantasy." Klaus bit out, pushing the girl back into the wall.

"You were someone I left behind long ago. There is nothing between us now." He spat, storming away from her quivering frame.

"You're angry." She mumbled, following his trail like a lost puppy.

"Thats what lovers do... but I know that Im the one for you, as I know that you will thank me eventually for killing your little, human pet."

Ava groaned as she reeled from the throbbing headache piercing her skull. She slowly pulled herself to her feet, wiping away the new wound cutting her forehead like a knife to butter.

Heavy breath smacked against her back with a low growl, sending shivers to shoot down her spine like a bullet.

"Shit." Ava whispered as she turned to see a man from the wrestling ring towering over her small frame. Veins underneath his eyes flushed with red, hunger thriving underneath his skin.

"You don't have to hurt me." Ava spluttered out as she stumbled backward, her body shaking with fear of the inevitable.

"You're- you're in transition, and you- er. You need to feed." The man followed her with a quick foot, closing the space between each of her steps.

"I know, Marcel told us." He growled, leaping toward the petrified frame of Avangaline. She crashed into another body as she dove from the transitioning vampire, her eyes wide as another growl erupted from the new body.

Another one had woke up, and with a heavier hunger that pulsed through his veins. Ava shrieked as she sprinted away, exhaustion already clinging to her limbs.

with the last bit of strength she had shrivelled in her stomach, her hands wrapped around a piece of wood and tore the object in half.

"Stay back." She yelled as the two neared her with little remorse. Her hands shook violently as she pointed the makeshift stake at one of the men, eyes darting from one to the other.

Before she knew it, Ava had crashed onto the floor with significant weight crushing her limbs. The man snapped his sharp teeth toward her neck and she could feel her blood pulse eagerly to escape the tear that would happen when he reached an artery.

Her fingers fumbled with the wooden stick still clinging to her hand, hastily shoving it into the chest of the predator.

His body went limp on top of hers, pinning her to the floor as if he was a brick against a wing. the other dove toward her in a haze of hunger, teeth ready to wrap around her neck.

As ava shoved the dead body off of her and prepared to fight another vampire off, the man fell limp a few metres before he could reach her.

Her gaze shot up to the person responsible, her eyes wide and doe like. She whimpered as they matched stares, tears burning at the back of her eyelids.

Immediately Klaus wrapped his arms around the petite blonde, relishing in the feeling of her breath against his skin.

"Oh, Nik. I was so scared." Ava whispered against his shirt, clenching her eyes shut to stop the flashing of fear encasing her vision.

The hybrid gently rocked the frightened girl and hushed her shivering frame, tightening his hold slightly to make sure she was really there.

"Its okay, love. I wont let her hurt you anymore."

Ava held a an icepack to her head, a small smile delicately placed on her lips.

"How are you feeling?" Klaus asked as he perched on the table infront of the girl. she huffed sarcastically as she sat up, her eyebrow quirked.

"Other than the obliterating pain of a headache, I think i'll be okay." Ava hummed, dropping the icepack to the sofa as she rested her hands on her lap.

"Well for tonight, I'd like you to stay here. Where I can protect you." Klaus noted, taking her hand subconsciously.

"Didn't you see me earlier, I kicked ass." Ava chuckled quietly, allowing the warmth of his fingertips to roll onto her skin.

"You're not funny. What happened today, It could've been a lot worse. And I want you to know..." Klaus murmured, the blue in his eyes ice cold.

"It wasn't your fault, hey I even got some fight training in." Ava smiled bitterly trying to rearrange the day to be more optimistic.

"Avangaline!" Klaus growled, dropping her hand with a snarl. She wasn't fazed by the reaction, she knew it was hard for him to see Aurora in such a manipulative and demonic light.
Ava nodded, dropping her smile as her gaze matched with his once again.

"I know, I know. This is serious. I will stay here for as long as you need me to. You have my word, Nik." Her tone was soft as her hands found his cheeks, a sad smile gracing her lips.

Klaus matched the expression, hiding the rage of emotions flooding though him.

"And you have my word that I will never let anything bad happen to you, again." His voice was so timid it was as if he was afraid to show how he truly felt about her.

Ava knew that, she was scared to.

"Thank you Nik." She whispered, before they finally kissed.
