"What's taking him so long..?" Glancing at the clock on the wall, you heave a long sigh and take a bite of your poppyseed bagel. "He's so-"

"Exceedingly attractive, I know. You flatter me love."

Oh will you look at that.. he's here. Leaning back in the chair, your head falls back and you send your partner a threatening glare. "Ten minutes late. I ate about five bagels already."

(C/N) shrugs nonchalantly and settles down in front of you. "I have a good reason for being late, alright? I was down at the lab and got the victim report." He pulls out a light cream file folder and slides it over to you. "Take a look."

Flipping open the folder, you scan the content inside provided by the lab team.

You crack a small smile. Based on this information, your inferences are most likely correct. (C/N) props an elbow on the table. "You're smiling. Your thoughts on the case must be correct then?"

You simply nod as he quirks an eyebrow in curiosity. "Let me hear it."

"We were told that this is a suicide case. However, I figured that couldn't be right once I saw the deep gash on the side of her head. My suspicions got confirmed once you reported of blood stains on a hidden chair and wall."

"We're on the same page then!" A broad smile appears on his face. "Upon closer inspection, the blood stains on the wall were actually smeared on. The murderer made two simple mistakes; he/she hid the bloody chair behind the curtains in hopes that we won't find it and smeared the blood on the wall."

"I presume the murderer attempted to make it look like the victim banged her head against the wall. Say that this was a suicide. Why not take a drug where it instantly kills you?"

"Correct. Well, Synxtokal is a pretty accessible drug in that area. Users who take it experience hallucinations, mainly auditory." (C/N) pauses for a moment before continuing. "To an outsider, it seems as if the victim committed suicide based on the cup, drug, and blood stains on the wall. In reality though..."

"They were purposely left there. The murderer banged a chair against her head multiple times, ultimately killing her. The stains on the wall were there to make it seem like the supposedly hallucinated victim obliged the voice(s) and banged her head against the wall to kill herself," you finalize.

"Clever move. This particular person knew the effects of the drug and took it into consideration. However.. this person forgot to move the victim's body closer to the blood-stained wall." Leaning back in the chair, he laughs lightly. "There's a chance that our inferences are erroneous. All we need to do now is interview the witness and wrap up this case."

You reply back by humming, staring intently at your bitten bagel. The discussion with your partner seems valid enough. Why exactly did the person kill this woman? Hm.. perhaps-

A jingle of keys intervene your thoughts. Blinking, your eyes bore into a pair of (C/E/C) eyes. The keys jingle once more as the male leans across the table. "Ready whenever you are."
