You and (C/N) were once in a relationship that didn't work out. Despite that, you two got closer and became close friends. You're still surprised by his response and didn't expect the feelings to be mutual.

"I'm... glad."

Three years later and nothing happened. You have always dreamed of having someone who you can talk to about everything and anything with, someone who you can trust with all your heart.

The words, "I like you too," still linger in your mind. Does he really? How did you two become so distant?

It started with the lack of text messages; you brought up pointless topics - like why strawberries aren't berries - to talk about, but he either left you on read or responded with minimal words. It was evident that he wasn't interested in having a conversation with you, which was strange considering you two talked about such topics in the past for endless hours.

Whenever you made a plan to hang out with him, he in turn made an excuse on why he couldn't. You used to hang out together every day - which included the lazy days where you both were sedentary at home - but those were the pleasant days he doesn't care for any longer.

You should move on and stop reminiscing about the bittersweet memories. It clearly won't do you any good. Although you're well aware of this, you can't help but contemplate about his terrible puns and endearing smile.

"I see that grin on your face! Don't try to hide it! You know my puns are grate. You cheddar them, right?" He rummages through the shambolic picnic basket, taking out a plastic container of Gouda cheese.

"They're pretty good!" you concur.

"I think you meant they're pretty gouda. I know, I know... my puns are cheesy!"

I've been having zero motivation to write lately, hence the lack of updates. Luckily, I have two finished drafts as of now which is why there's a one-shot for today and one for next week. I'll be updating whenever I can. I hope you all understand.
