"betty, i know it hurts but really is it their fault? they can't help the way they feel. this is probably all new for them too." veronica says to a sobbing betty
"i know but like, if he's been gay this whole time why did he even ask me to be his girlfriend? why did he lead me on like this if he doesn't even like me like that?" betty says through sobs
"jughead didn't do it on purpose. i doubt he even knew he could have feelings for guys until he kissed archie. sexuality is a complicated thing betty, it takes awhile to figure it out." veronica says now rubbing betty's back comfortingly
"oh yea? and how would you know?" betty huffed
veronica quickly removed her hand from betty's back and cleared her throat
"i, i just do. ok?" she mumbled
"how would you know how complicated sexuality is if you're not gay?" betty asked curiously
"well, i uh, i just-"
"wait" betty cut her off "v are you, are you a lesbian?"
veronica noticeably tensed but responded quickly
"what? no. why would you think that?" veronica asked nervously
"that's why you're not even that mad about archie and jughead, because you don't even have feelings for archie." betty says as if she just realized the most important thing in the world
"that's crazy betty. of course i have feelings for archie." veronica said in an unsure tone
"i don't believe that one bit." betty says no longer crying
"well then that's you're problem." veronica sassed laying on betty's bed so that she was looking up at the ceiling.
betty went quiet for a second as she was thinking of what to say next.
"when you kissed me, during our try out to be on cheryl's cheer squad, was that really because you thought it would help us or just because you wanted to kiss me?" betty asked looking down at veronica.
veronica didn't say anything for a little while but then she quickly mumbled out
"i did it just because i wanted to."
"what was that? couldn't hear you." betty teased
veronica put her hands over her face to hide her blushing
"i said, i did it just because i wanted to."
betty didn't say anything and veronica didn't take her hands off of her face because she didn't want to see betty who probably looked disgusted right now.
but what happened next is the last thing veronica expected to happen at that moment. she felt a soft pair of warm lips attach to hers and for a second she was frozen and just let betty do all the work. she quickly snapped out of her trance though and kissed betty back, moving her hands from her face to betty's blonde hair.
the kiss lasted a few seconds before they both pulled away for air.
"and i did that just because i wanted to." betty said with a smile
veronica smiled back. she secretly had wanted to kiss betty again ever since their "first kiss" but she never thought betty felt the same way and didn't want to take that risk. over time as betty and veronica grew closer veronica's feelings for betty grew stronger and stronger, but she had to suppress those feelings when jughead and betty started dating. veronica was heartbroken and was desperate for anyone and anything to take her mind off of the fact the the person she loved, loved someone else. so that's where archie comes in. archie and veronica both being vulnerable due to the heartbreak of the people they loved being in love with each other, made it easy for them to "fall for each other". veronica felt like she really did have feelings for archie at first but every time they kissed it never felt the same as when she kissed betty. so obviously, when archie and jughead told her and betty that they kissed and had feelings for each other, veronica was beyond happy. because this meant that she would no longer have to see the love of her life kissing or hugging or even holding hands with someone that wasn't her. she pretended to be sad about the whole situation so that no one would suspect anything, but on the inside she was thriving. and now here she is laying on betty's bed after they had just made out and she's never felt so happy.
"so what does this mean? for us?" veronica asked betty
"umm. i don't know. that you're my girlfriend now." betty said more as a question than a statement
"sounds good to me." veronica said before pulling betty into another kiss. this one longer and more passionate than the first one.
when they finally pulled away from the kiss after what seemed like forever, betty looked at veronica questioningly.
"so does this mean i'm gay?" betty asked
veronica laughed
"not necessarily, i mean, you really did have feelings for jughead right?"
"of course i did." betty says matter of factly
"well then you're not gay, bi more like." veronica says with a smile
"maybe i'm just, veronicasexual." betty says with a small laugh
veronica laughed too
"yea? well whatever you are, i'm glad it means i get to call you mine." veronica says
betty smiles and gives veronica a quick peck on the lips
"i guess we should tell the boys right? so they know they shouldn't feel so bad anymore?" betty suggests
"yea, definitely." veronica agrees
