CELESTE'S POV:

"My mum wants you to perform at her friend's restaurant tomorrow. Luke, Michael, bring your acoustics. Calum, your bass. Ashton, your drum," I informed the boys.

"Celeste, we know what to bring," Ashton rolled his eyes.

"Don't sass me, Irwin," I snapped.

"Sorry, jeez," he put his hands up in defense.

"When it comes to gigs, Celeste is the boss," Luke told the guys.

"That's right," I agreed.

"Boys! Celeste! In my office!" My mum called to us.

We headed over to her office and she sat there with papers in her hands.

"I need you to write a new song," Mum started.

"Does it have to be about something in particular?" Calum wondered.

"No, I'm not picky. Write about whatever you feel," she told us.

"Great, we'll get started," Michael chimed in.

"Good," Mum smiled, a satisfied look clear on her face.

We headed back to the music room and Luke started strumming on his guitar.

"You seem quiet today, Luke. Something bothering you at all?" I worried.

"I'm fine," he mumbled.

"Dude, no you're not," Michael piped us.

"I said I'm fine," Luke snapped.

Michael and I stared at each other in confusion.

"So let's get started shall we? Where's Ashton?" I wondered, looking around.

"Here!" he barged in the room.

"We need to start writing," I informed him.

"What's going on with Luke?" Ashton asked.

"He needs to control his fucking temper, that's what," I muttered.

He had no right to snap at Michael, he did nothing wrong. Did I do something wrong? I hope not. He's just been irritating all day.

We worked on the song for two hours before the guys got hungry.

"Luke, do you want dinner?" I asked him. He ignored me and just kept playing guitar.

Well, we're going to my house if you change your mind," I mumbled and walked out with the boys.

When I showed up at my house, Mum was working on dinner.

"How's the song coming?" she wondered.

"Good, it's coming along," Michael answered.

"Great. Where's Luke?" Mum questioned.

"Um, he's at the studio still," Ashton replied.

"Oh. Well, he's invited over for dinner if he wants," Mum kept on making dinner.

"I don't think he's coming, Celeste," Calum told me.

"He's been acting so weird lately, I don't understand it," I sighed.

"He's too secluded. He's quiet and doesn't like to express his feelings," Ashton explained.

"Sounds like someone I know," I muttered. I'm the exact same way.

"Give him time," Calum said.

I only nodded.

"Speak of the devil," Ashton muttered.

Luke walked in the front door, looking really pissed off.

"Luke. Outside. Now," I hissed, pointing to the sliding glass door.

He listened and I followed him outside.

"What is wrong with you?" I snapped.

"What?" he shrugged.

"You've been quiet, moody, and just plain irritating," I told him.

"I'm okay," he claimed.

"Yeah, bullshit," I scoffed.

"I'm fine! Will you give it a rest already? I'm okay, Celeste! Stop worrying about me," he shouted.

"Maybe I worry because I care," tears welled up in my eyes.

"Celeste, wait-"

"Save it, Luke," I snapped and slammed the sliding glass door behind me. I ran to my room, ignoring the other boys' calls.

"Celeste?" Someone knocked.

"Go away," I knew it was Luke.

"Cel," Luke pleaded.

"Go," I said sternly.

"I'm not leaving until you talk to me," he stated.

"I'm not talking to you right now," I scowled.

LUKE'S POV:

What is wrong with me? I'm so fucking stupid. I know I hurt Celeste. She was only worried and looking out for me. I leaned against the door, feeling terrible for what I did.

"Luke, I think you need to leave her alone right now," Ashton startled me.

"But I need to talk to her," I protested.

"No. Leave her alone for now," Ashton shook his head.

"I don't want to, Ashton," I refused.

"Ashton, can I talk to you?" Celeste's faint voice asked.

"Stay here," Ashton ordered.

"Okay, okay," I sighed.

He shut the door behind him and I listened up against the door.

"I don't want to talk to him," Celeste said.

"He's on the verge of tears. And Luke never cries," Ashton explained.

There was silence, then Celeste spoke.

"Am I overreacting?" she wondered.

"No. I don't know why he's like this," Ashton replied.

"I was only looking out for him. Is it wrong to care for someone else?" Celeste mumbled.

"Of course not. Luke cares about you a lot, he's just being weird lately. He's told me that he cares about you and he will never try to intentionally hurt you. You're friends, and he doesn't mean to hurt you," Ashton answered.

He's right. I do care about her. More than she knows.

"Really?" Celeste said.

"Yes," Ashton replied.

"Can you send Luke in here?" Celeste questioned.

"Yes," Ashton opened the door and gestured for me to come in. He left and shut the door behind him.

"Luke, I'm sorry-"

"No, don't be. You have every right to be mad. I shouldn't have snapped at you like that," I cut her off.

"And I overreacted," she added.

"Forgive me?" I asked.

"Only if you forgive me," she smiled.

I wrapped her in a hug and we stayed like that for quite a while.

But it can't be this perfect forever.
