A sausage sizzle is white bread (not brown, a hot dog bun, etc. just white bread), a beef sausage (usually the cheap Coles ones), carmelised onion (in rings or semi-circles), and tomato sauce.
Not any other way.
They are usually found outside Bunnings on a weekend. $2 for a sausage, ta so much.To get a spot, you have to book months in advance. The people selling the sausages are usually volunteers, for different clubs and teams. Australia Day Weekend, however, is always for the CFS (Country Fire Service). It's the one we use the most this time of year after all.
Only once have I ever seen a Bunnings cancel their sausage sizzle due to hot weather. That's how much we love them.
