Life asked me once how I knew it by name.
I smiled a smile and responded,
"Because you gave birth to me,
And you're the reason I exist."
"But you didn't stay."
A single tear falls,
Before I can catch it.
"I never knew you.
You were my whole reason to survive,
But you were always missing.
From the photographs,
From the dreams I wished for,
From me."
"I'm all grown up now. I move, I feel, I exist.
But I'm lifeless."
I hear three words behind me
Full of pain, full of self-loathing, full of sorrow.
"I'm so sorry."
And it doesn't magically make everything better
But it feels good anyway. So I say,
"I forgive you."
And I mean it.
And somehow,
That gives me a tiny bit of life.
Love you all! Here's where all my creativity has been bottled up :P It was just waiting for the right day. ;) Much love!
