{Emily's POV}
I groaned as I paced my room on the phone.
"No! If you would just let me meet with him I could-" I was cut off, yet again.
"The alpha is busy at the moment with a game of golf, can I take a message?" The lady repeated.
"Are you thick in the head?" I couldn't help but ask, "This is Emily Sire, head detective of FBSI? I was given permission by him, might I add, to enter this pack!" FBSI, that never gets old. Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation. We were basically the wolf version of the FBI, but better.
"I demand for him to give me one five minute meeting. Actually, I'll even settle for a phone call! I've called nearly seven times this week and he is always busy with nothing important!" I nearly yelled.
"Like I said, can I take a message?" She asked with a sickly sweet voice.
I could break something.
"Yes, tell him when he gets his head out of his ass and is ready to talk about the people dying in his pack, I'm in room 4B at the plaza inn." I mocked back and ended the call.
I let out a frustrated growl and tossed my phone onto my bed.
A soft knock sounded on my door and I sighed walking over and pulling it open.
"Wow, you look like you've had a rough morning... coffee?" Tanner asked and I couldn't help but crack a smile as I grabbed the coffee.
"You wouldn't believe what I just did." I spoke shutting the door behind him.
"And what did you do?" He asked cocking an eyebrow.
"I basically just told the alpha's assistant that I said for him to get his head out of his ass. Do you think that'll make him drop his plans and grab a meeting with me?" I joked.
"You know... I don't think so." He joked back with an amused facial expression.
I let out a small laugh giving him a playful eye roll as I sat on the edge of my perfectly made bed and he took the spot next to me.
"Im just worn out." I mumbled looking down at the coffee cup, "This is a big deal for me and I just need to speak with him for five minutes and he won't give me the time of day." I stressed.
"Well, you're used to getting your way." He said and I cocked an eyebrow.
"So?" He chuckled.
"So, this is of course going to bother you, but let me remind you that this isn't some cop or detective this is an alpha and you have to respect him just like you would the chief." I wanted to push him off the bed with how right he always is.
"Doesn't mean I have to like him." I muttered pulling the coffee cup to my lips taking a sip.
"Not necessarily. Look, i'll try and get in touch with someone who can get me to him. Just let me take over that and you get back to doing what you're best at: catching the bad guys." Tanner said and I smiled.
