Many of you read 'Adopted by who' fanfics right?
I do read them too and is currently obsessed about 'Adopted by Yogscast' ones xD
But on the serious side...
What is parenthood really?
Let me explain you what is parenthood
Parenthood is a big responsibility of 2 people living under one roof and raising a child together
Interesting right?
Actually... its a big burden
But some of us are meant to be parents. Some of you are good with kids right? That's a sure sign you'll be a parent one day. Okay I admit I'm good with kids even though some of the kids I handled are pure terror. But its a big responsibility! What if you got preggers and had a kid?! AT THE YOUNG AGE OF 15?! Oh God... you're a teenage parent!
AND YOU ARE STILL DEPENDENT ON YOUR PARENTS!
Some parents willingly accept. Most dont. It would definitely suck if your family is super duper hyper religious. Mine for example although I'm not as religious as my parents and only bratty sibling. Abortion is a no-no because...
If you're a teenager and got pregnant for a reason, its a sure sign of huge responsibility ahead of you
But that still sucks since you're stuck with a kid
What will you do?
Raise them well. Dont let them make a stupid mistake like you did. When they grow up, mend their ways. Discipline them when necessary. Be there as their rock. But give them the freedom to express themselves. Love them for who they are. Instill them values AND SAFETY AGAINST PEDOS. Protect them from the dangers of the world
The end product? Well-bred kids
But what if they looked fine on outside but is crumbling on inside?
Be there for them. Ask them if they're alright. If they try to push you away, give them space. But still, let love prevail
Be a good role model too. Dont smoke. Dont drink. Dont do drugs. Do only good things in front of them. Encourage positive thinking. BUT DONT EMBARASS THEM! We're all embarassed by our own mothers right? Mine did. IN FRONT OF HUNDREDS OF PUPILS WHEN I WAS IN THE SOCIAL STUDIES QUIZBEE! Oh my God... I was eternally humilitated...
Now let me ask you a question, are you willing to be a parent? Are you willing to raise a child? Are you?
Personally, I'd say no :P Not because of responsibilities. I take account on my personal health and current mental state of immaturity.
But circumstances say so, I'm glad to do that
I dont want to raise my kids the way my mom did
And I swear to God the adopted by fanfic I wrote held some truth about parenting :/
