BRYNN'S POV

"Ok, so now Annie won't talk to you?" I ask incredulously.

Kenzie nods sadly. "Yeah."

"But she just assumed that you guys went on a double date with us?"

"I guess." She smirks, and then adds, "If you call yourselves a date..."

Rolling my eyes, I smile back and fall onto the bed. "I don't get it."

"I don't either."

"Well, I hope you can resolve it today...if she'll let you talk to her."

"Me too."

Shaking my head in disbelief, I continue, "I can't believe Annie would do that though. It seems so petty of her to get triggered so easily. But I guess she was already uneasy because of their parents fighting..."

"Yeah, I guess so." Kenzie scoots off the bed and opens the door to the bedroom. "Mom, what time are we leaving for the party?"

"Probably around 5 to get there by 6," Mommy Mel calls back.

"Then we should start getting ready now?" Kenzie asks.

"Probably."

Shutting the door, Kenzie turns to face me. "Wanna get ready now?"

I shrug. "Sure."

Kenzie picks up her phone and starts going over to the closet to get her dress.

"Oh my gosh." She stops, halfway there. "Hayden says he's not coming tonight. He says there's a ton of drama on Instagram now so it'll be too much. Supposedly, Annie and her parents posted on Instagram..."

"Oh no..."

Opening Instagram, I scroll through my feed. It doesn't take me too long to find all the drama.

"People are saying I'm the reason they broke up!" Kenzie bursts out, and sinks onto the floor. "I didn't even know they were dating. And Annie never told me she didn't want me talking to Hayden. I don't even talk to him that much!"

I crouch down next to Kenzie. "I'm so sorry. I know you didn't do anything."

"I've been nothing but sweet to Annie," she continues, brokenhearted. "I support her, and I defend her when my fans get mad at her. She was the reason me and Hayden broke up, but..."

"Don't cry, Kenz." Hugging her quickly, I sigh. "People can be so mean when they don't know the whole story. Annie probably just heard the rumors and believed them."

Picking up her phone again, Kenzie quickly tweets a message.

"Don't listen to the haters, Kenzie." I smile, and start humming her song.

"I won't stop fighting the monsters, tryin'a rise above, but they pullin' me underrr, and I'm trying to keep my feet on the ground, I'll stumble but I'll never stay down, I won't stop fightin', I won't stop fighting fighting the monsterssssss!!" I'm really out of tune, on purpose, because I'm not a singer, but Kenzie laughs, and that's all I was trying to do.

"Ok, ok, I get it. I won't let them get to me. It's ok. I'm just kind of sad that Annie would think that of me!"

"Why don't you call her?"

Kenzie shrugs. "I don't know if she'll pick up. I can talk to her when I see her tonight though..."

"Anyways, let's get dressed." I say, pulling Kenzie up.

Finally, we're dressed and we finish our makeup.

I'm wearing a simple floral dress with nude block heels.

Kenzie's wearing a pretty white dress with a red belt and red heels.

"How are you feeling?" Turning to Kenzie, I give her another hug.

She shrugs. "Okay, I guess. I'm choosing to stay positive, because this party is going to be lit and I'm excited! Nothing's going to get in the way of that."
