Nagisa smiled as he knocked on the door.

"Yo Yumi open up!" Karma called when she took more moments than he wanted.

"Karma!" Nagisa chided, as the door finally opened. A stressed-looking Yumi was at the door, a clearly fake smile painted onto her face.

"Hey guys! Sorry I'm such a mess, I had a really stressful day at work."

Karma shrugged as the both of them came in. Iyuka was with the Isogai family, so that Karma and Nagisa could have dinner with Yumi alone.

"So where's Misui-san?" Nagisa asked.

"Oh? She's uh- she's at a work conference. Yeah she got called out just last night for an emergency. Sorry about that."

Neither Akabane looked convinced, but they let it go.

"Oh, that's annoying. Tell her we say hi though." Nagisa smiled. Yumi nodded and the three of them went to the dining room where the food was already set up.

The dinner went pretty calmly, at least on the surface. If you looked past that, you might have noticed that Nagisa was secretly doing his best to get as much information as he could without revealing he was doing it. Karma caught on about half-way through dinner, but he didn't try to interfere. He may not be a world-class assassin, but he wasn't dense enough to not realize when someone he'd known since infancy was lying to his face.

The meal was rushed, and everyone could feel that something was wrong. While she was being polite and hiding it as best she could, Yumi clearly had others things she wanted to do.

After eating up, Karma and Nagisa said goodbye and went home. Iyuka wouldn't be back for around two hours, so they had time to chat.

"Did you figure out what was wrong?" Karma asked as they laid down on the bed.

Nagisa shook his head. "I know that the work conference was a lie. Misui-san isn't there, but Yumi doesn't know where she is. I'm worried something happened."

"Well no shit something happened, it was written all over Yumi's face."

Nagisa glared as Karma cursed. "I know that. I want to help her but we can't just barge into her personal life like that."

"We can try and track Misui down ourselves? And just not tell her?"

Nagisa shrugged. "That feels like an invasion of privacy."

"Yumi looked like she was about to burst into tears the entire night, Nagisa."

Nagisa sighed deeply. "I saw..."

They were going to keep chatting, but a ring of the doorbell alerted them to someone's arrival. Nagisa checked the time.

"That's probably Yuuma-kun with Misui. I'll go let them in." Nagisa said as he left the room.

Nagisa checked the security feed to see Yuuma with Manarou and Iyuka standing at the gate. Nagisa pressed the button to open the lock and the three came in.

"Hello Yuuma-kun." Nagisa smiled.

"Hey Nagisa-kun."

"Thank you so much for watching Iyu-chan for us while we went out to dinner."

"Of course, she's such a sweet girl. And Mana-chan just adores her. They look so happy when they play together." Yuuma smiled.

"Yes, I'm glad Iyu-chan has such a good friend. I'll let you get on home, the drive out here isn't the shortest."

"Well it's not your fault, but thank you for the consideration. It's way past Mana-chan's bedtime anyway." Yuuma said before calling out to Manarou that it was time to go and giving Nagisa a final goodbye and asking him to tell Karma he said hello. Nagisa agreed and brought Iyuka to bed before going back to his own room.

"Yuuma-kun says hello." Nagisa noted.

"Oh does he? Well that's nice, the ikemen. Come and get into bed, it's late, and I'm tired and want to cuddle my husband."

Nagisa rolled his eyes and got into bed, Yumi and Misui still on his mind.
