Karma and Nagisa knew nothing was quite right. It hadn't been for years, really. But it certainly wasn't good right now.

They weren't dumb enough to believe Zamakane wouldn't catch on eventually, but they had to be ready when it happened.

Karma didn't expect it would be so soon.

A text from Gakushuu just barely preceded a shattering noise and a thump of someone breaking the window downstairs. Karma flitted through his mind where his family was.

Iyuka was over at Ami-chan's, which was good. Poor girl didn't need more trauma. Seizon was getting her fur cut. Nagisa and Miki were in the assassination training room, and therefore not accessible, nor would they have heard the noise.

Karma was on his own this time.

That was workable.

Karma popped his knuckles quickly and shot Gakushuu a text that, yeah, there were people at his house too. After sending the text, he tossed his phone idly over to his bed and rolled up his sleeves.

The men downstairs weren't being all that subtle, and there were only two of them.

Karma probably could take them, and he was quite confident until one of them kicked down the door of Nagisa's "study".

"Shit," Karma said, pulling attention to himself.

"Go check that room, I'll deal with this punk!" One of the masked men ordered the other vanishing into the room.

Karma sprinted after him, just to get cut off by the man still in the room.

The redhead immediately aimed at kick to the intruder's head. Said man dodged, barely avoiding getting his nose kicked in. He threw a punch, that, while being quite powerful, wasn't enough to be on par with Karma's strength, who caught it. Before his opponent could react, Karma broke it with a swift motion. The assailant screamed out in an extremely high pitch that Karma never thought would be attainable for a man his size. As much as the sadist had other things to do, he couldn't leave until the man was incapacitated. He settled on a quicker and less complicated motion, and kicked the man back on his ass, before sitting on him and punching the living daylights out of him. Once he was sure that the assailant on the floor wasn't going to wake up soon, he got up.

Karma brushed his hands together and flicked off a stray drop of blood before rushing into the room, just to notice the man getting worriedly close to safe Nagisa hid the vial in.

Karma, you know what would happen if someone got this, right?

Of course, I do, they would probably cause a war. Imagine the government getting ahold of quote-on-quote "super soldiers," things would go to shit.

Which is precisely why we must protect it at all costs. I would rather you drink it than let it get into someone else's hands.

Karma's face was raging as the man, who had yet to notice him, finally saw the safe.

"Well, guess we're going with plan G." Karma murmured just as the man popped the safe open with a small blast.

With a well-placed shove, the man went rolling over, just to look up and see Karma chug the vial in a single gulp.
