Nagisa sat, hidden in the darkness of shadows behind the old water-treatment plant, waiting.

His breaths were soundless, his wavelength stable, unmoving. To all the world he wasn't there.

The kid would be here soon.

Nagisa knew his guest had arrived when a shorter-looking person arrived, hiding their features with a black hoodie. Quickly, they blended into the shadows. Nagisa had to commend them, they were hiding well--not as well as he was, obviously, and they clearly didn't know how to hide their wavelength, yet for their age they were doing well.

Nagisa jumped down, appearing right in front of the kid. He was wearing a mask to keep his identity covered, along with a wig.

"Redback." Nagisa stated.

"Shi-Shinigami-sama." Redback stuttered, bowing his head. "May I see your-your identification?" They requested quietly.

Nagisa smirked at the cleverness of the kid. "Of course," Nagisa said, pulling back the collar of his shirt to expose a small snake tattoo under his collarbone. He had gotten the tattoo after forming his organization as a form of identification to prove, no matter what disguise he had on, that he was the God of Death.

"Thank you, Shinigami-sama. Why- Why did you ask me here?" Redback asked.

"Well, Kumoko-kun, I noticed you've been using some... unusual methods to kill your targets--methods which might bring someone to notice that the murders are connected. Though I must commend you-- where did you get all of that Japanese Redback venom?" Nagisa purred, using Kumoko's name to make sure Kumoko knew their situation and would remain purely truthful.

"O-Oh! Oh my..." Kumoko squeaked, "Well- well you-you see... I- I, um, well, I produce it? I'm- well, um, you see, I'm a, er, hybrid?" Kumoko quietly stuttered out, making Nagisa's eyes widen.

"A hybrid..." He murmured, "How did you turn? A crimson red injection, followed by searing, burning pain all throughout your body?"

"H-How did you know?!" Kumoko startled, jumping back.

Nagisa took off his mask and wig, revealing his scales and slitted eyes. "Because the same thing happened to me."

Kumoko's eyes widened comically. "So you--you're the snake hybrid that destroyed all the other injections! S-Shiro-sama told me that a "meddling snake hybrid" destroyed all of the other prototypes except for that one, which he put into me to test me--but then he... well he left the lab for a while and I got out... I never saw him or Misui-san again..." They murmured.

"That's my fault. I killed the bastard--Misui-san, however... She's my cousin-in-law. She's no longer working with Shiro."

Kumoko sighed in relief, "That's good. She was always so kind to me. I-If it's alright, Shinigami-sama... can I meet her? I want to say thank you--It's okay if you can't, though!" Kumoko hastily added.

Nagisa smiled, "No, it's alright Kumoko-kun. I had been meaning to talk with you--maybe take you under my wing if you let me. You have a good heart, I can tell. Plus, I want to keep an eye on you--hybrids have to stick together, no?" Nagisa chuckled, "You can call me Nagisa, by the way. When we are assassins, obviously, I'm still Shinigami-sama, but outside of that call me by my name."

Kumoko's eyes lit up as Nagisa revealed his name--a very sacred thing in the assassination community. "Okay Nagisa-sama! You can call me Mikkun! My first name is Miki!"

"Alright Mikkun. Come--let me introduce you to my husband; he'll call Misui for you. Plus, he's very interested in meeting the spider I've mentioned to him."
