"Priyanka! Priyanka!... Hey hey Shanaya did you see Priyanka she is not in her room", Abhimanyu asked Shanaya. Shanaya looked at him and kept looking for a long time. "Hey? Are you alright?" Abhimanyu asked. Shanaya smiled and said "seriously Abhi? Like seriously. It's Over man .All of this is done. She is gone and will never return. She is... She is not coming back to you. For so many years you waited for her right? Kya hua? Kyu nhi roka? Kyu nhi sach bataya? (why didn't you tell her Truth)"
"I did tell her the truth Shanaya. I told her why I did what I did. But it's difficult I know. I mean for her it is." Abhimanyu's voice faltered.
Abhimanyu's phone rang and he saw Priyanka's name flashing. He picked up her call and asked, "Priyanka where are you? We need to leave for Mumbai. We have a flight at 3 pm."
"I am where I should be Abhi. I don't have the guts to face you." Priyanka sobbed.
"Are you okay?"
"I am I am.. Just go to my room and unlock the cupboard. You will find a locker. You know the password. It was the best day of your life which turned into a nightmare. Just open it and you will find all your answers Abhi. Just do as I say cause you don't have time. And trust me please!!! I love you and I always did. I am sorry. " Priyanka disconnected the call.
"Is everything alright Abhi?" Shanaya asked worriedly.
"I don't know Shanaya. My life is a mess now. And I hope it gets cleared some day"
Shanaya kept her hand on his shoulder and said , " it will Abhi I know it will". She left.
Abhimanyu was shocked. He didn't know what to do. What was she referring to. The only way to find out was to do as she said but he was scared. Very scared." What if Priyanka is in danger? What if I am the reason behind her misery? What if Priyanka forces me to get married to her for the sake of her dying father". Abhimanyu's mind was filled with all such questions when Maahi came to his rescue. " Abhimanyu are you okay? I came here to give this." Maahi had a box in her hand ," Priyanka told me to give this to you. I don't exactly know what it is but yeah this is for you." She kept staring at the box while he was hesitant to open it.
To his surprise he found Priyanka's engagement ring and a small note attached to it. ' It was a pleasure knowing you '. Abhimanyu was dumbstruck. He didn't know what was happening . These notes, the letter made him lose his mind. He was upset with Sehar's departure and this situation made it even worse. Sehar's words kept ringing in his mind--
" Priyanka loves you. She deserves to be happy. I can't and will not ruin her dreams of her marriage with you. This is the last time I am speaking to you cause Tomorrow morning I am leaving. Good bye Mr. Abhimanyu Singh Rawat. It was a pleasure meeting you again. Thanks for telling me the truth about why you did what you did. But Time and tide waits for none. It's been ten years and of course ten years is a long time. I will remember you as a good memory.... I promise.. Stay happy ".
Maahi slowly parted her lips and looked around. She hugged him and said , " you tried your best Abhi still couldn't do it. Nobody!!! literally Nobody in this fucking universe knows how much 'YOU' love her but I do. Yeh feelings abhi pechle saat dino ki nhi hai. Yeh feelings pechle pandra saalo ki hai.(these feelings have not just evolved in these last 7 days but these feelings have stayed with you for 15 years). You remember right? 25th may 2011 . You were there at the hospital. You went to speak to her right? At the hospital ? After the accident. You were there Abhimanyu !!!! You knew. You were always there "
Abhimanyu looked into her eyes and said, " so what? She hates me Maahi. I know I have been following her since forever but I never had the courage to face her. I love her Maahi. I really do. That accident which happened I knew it was because of me. Mihir was telling her about my feelings. She lost control on her driving and the rest is all known to you right? I don't deserve her."
" Fine ...let her go... Abhi you actually don't deserve her. You don't!!!don't ". Maahi screamed at the top of her voice and left Abhimanyu with an aching heart. Abhimanyu looked at his phone which flashed his engagement picture with Priyanka.
" Just do as I say" , Priyanka's voice echoed in his mind and he ran towards her room. He opened the cup board and found a small box. It was made out of black metal and had a password lock. Abhimanyu carefully took it out and sat on the floor. He tried every other password he knew.
2711 - Priyanka's birthday
1503- Abhimanyu's birthday
2706- Their engagement date
1410- Their scheduled wedding date.
He tried some random combinations as well but failed.' Best day turned nightmare'. 'Best day turned nightmare'. ' Best day turned nightmare'. He cracked it. It has to be that day. But how come Priyanka knows about that? How is that possible. Abhimayu clenched his fist and then released. He took a deep breath and said ," 25th may 2011. It is 2505"
The box unlocked and he found a file with legal papers and a few letters. Abhimanyu was not expecting this. The first paper read two names
Priyanka Jha and Sehar Singhania
The paper dated 6 years back.
27th may 2011.
