It's almost been a whole week since I've talked to Ava
I mean we say 'hi' and 'bye' at school but we haven't had a proper conversation
She's usually at her house, so I don't get to see her that often
So that's why today I'm going to go to her house to spend some time with her
I'll probably become nervous and not say anything while I'm there but I'm fine by just being beside her
It's something about her that makes me smile for no reason
She makes me feel things I've never felt in a long time...
Ok, if I'm being honest I maybe, kind of have a teeny tiny crush on her.
It'll go away soon
It's just everything about her is so...so perfect
I walk up to her house right after school ended and I knock on her door
After a few minutes the door opens but I wasn't expecting a guy to open it
Who is he? I saw him last week entering the house with Ava
Is he her boyfriend?
I felt a tinge of jealousy
"Uhh who are you?" I ask him
"I could say the same" he says looking me up and down
"I'm one of her friends" I say "as well as her neighbour" I say jabbing my thumb toward my house
He nods and let's me enter the house
"She's upstairs" was all he said before entering another room and locking the door
I walk up the stairs and I knock on her door
I hear a faint "Come in" and with that I walk in
I saw Ava lying on her bed reading a book
I clear my through
She looks up from her book and stares at me in shock
"Blake? What are you doing here?" She asks
"Uh I um...I came here to Hangout with you, because... because Uh why not" I say nervously
Why do I get nervous about it, I've had many crushes before and I've dated before too, so why do I act differently about it
"Oh, Uh—um s-sure come sit" she says patting the spot next to her
I awkwardly walk to her and sit next to her, but I leave a little bit of gap, I don't want her getting uncomfortable around me
"So..." she says rather awkwardly
I jump right to the question that had been bothering me ever since I got here
"Uh if you don't mind me asking, who's that guy downstairs?" I ask
"Ohh um Sam? He's my best friend, he's come here for his cancer treatment" she says
"Oh ok cool, um wanna go out?"
'Ok cool'
Seriously Blake? What's wrong with me? She just told me he has cancer.
I mean...what's else am I supposed to say? I'm really awkward when it comes to these kind of stuff.
She looks at me for a moment before she nods her head and gives me a small smile
"Sure" she says while heading for her closet and gets out a pair of jeans and a plain black shirt
She heads to the bathroom to change, after a few minutes I see her exit the bathroom and walks to the door
"What are you waiting for? Let's go" she says
"Aren't you going to put on makeup? Isn't that what all girls do?" I ask in confusion
"I'm too lazy to, plus I'm not that good at it either" she says while heading down the stairs
She knocks on a door and the door opens revealing Sam
"I'm heading out, do you want anything" she asks him while smiling up at him.
Sam looks at me up and down then adverts his eyes to Ava
"No it's fine, stay safe" he says then kisses her forehead
I want to kiss her forehead too...not fair
I head to my car with Ava behind me, I open the passenger side for her and she smiles at me and gets in
Oh how I love that smile of hers...
