As we walked into the hospital the smell of medicine hit my nose.

Blake and I walked to the receptionist followed by Dad and Mom.

" Hey, do you know what room Sam Johnson is in?" I asked

The receptionist looked up from her computer and flashed me a smile

"Yes he's in room 240 on the second floor, may I ask how you are related to him?" She asks

" uh I'm his sister and these are our parents" I said pointing to my parents behind me

"And you sir?" She asks Blake

"Oh I'm not related to him, I can wait outside" he said

"Thank you" I say to be receptionist

She nodded her head and looked back at her computer

My parents and I walk into the elevator and pressed on the button to the second floor

Once we reached the second floor it took us a few minutes to find his room once we did we peaked into his room and saw Sam still sleeping.

A small part of we was hoping he was awake so I could apologise to him for not spending time with him.

I sighed and walked to one of the chairs, my parents following me

I hold onto his hand and bring it to my lips and give it a peck I then lightly rest my head on his hands

"I'm so so sorry" I whisper

"Oh honey, this isn't your fault" I hear my Mom say, I then hear shuffling until I feel her hug me from the back

"Yeah I know, it's just...since he's come here I haven't spent a lot of time with him, I should have hung out with him" I say

Just then I hear my phone ring, I dig into the pockets of my jeans and bring my phone out.

I saw the caller ID and it was Mrs. Johnson.

"Hello?" I say

"Pumpkin I'm in the hospital could you please tell me Sam's room number please" She asks

"Wait for me, I'll come and get you" I say

I then hear her say 'ok' so I end the call and head for elevator

Once I reach the first floor I find Mrs. Johnson sitting on one of the seat with her head in her hands

I walk up to her and tap her shoulder

"Mrs. Johnson?" I say

She looks at me and smiles at me, but it didn't look like her normal, it didn't reach her eyes

She got up and gave me a big tight hug

I hug her back and smile at her

I look around the place but I couldn't find Blake

Where'd he go?

I shrug and tell Mrs. Johnson to follow me

We both enter the elevator and head up to the second floor, I walk up to Sam's room door

Once I open the door I let her enter first with me following right behind her

She looks at Sam and her eyes start to water

I look up at my mom to see her already hugging Mrs. Johnson

Mom and Mrs. Johnson were best friends since high school and still are best friends.

I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket, I pull it out of my pocket again,

I saw that I had a message from Blake

Hey, so I left a few minutes after you and your parents went to meet Sam because Rose needed my help for something.

I look at the text and respond with

Yeah ok, I'll come home with my parents

Once my message was sent I put my phone back into my pocket

"Hey Dad, I'm coming home with you guys cause Blake left" I said

"Uh-honey if you forgot we have work, we wanted to come to the hospital to see Sam, then we wanted to head for work" my Mom responds

"Oh, then can you please give me some money I'll go home with a cab" I say

My Dad hands me some money, I smile at him and thank him

"You're leaving now?" Mrs Johnson asks

" Yeah, I have a math test I need to revise for but I'll come back after lunch" I respond

Mrs. Johnson nods her head

I walk up to Sam and kiss his hand and forehead.

"I'll see you later" I whisper to him even though he couldn't hear me

I walk out of the hospital and I get a cab. I tell the man my address and he starts driving

Once he reaches my house I thank him while handing him some money, I get out of the cab and walk up to the door.

Once I open the door I yell and tell Brian and Sophia that I was back

I walk up the stairs and enter my room I change into some sweatpants and a black shirt, I put my hair into a messy bun

I remove my books and try to study, the key word was 'try'. I didn't understand one bit of these questions

How the hell am I supposed to pass in maths if I don't understand the first question

I realised that since I'm not good at maths I could ask Rose for help

I reach for my phone and call Rose. After the second ring Rose picks up

"Avaaa, I haven't heard from you in such a long time" she says

"You so dramatic, I literally saw you yesterday in school" I roll my eyes while smiling

"So what's up, why'd you call" she asks

"So I have a math test tomorrow and I don't understand anything, could you help me" I ask

"Yeah sure, come over I'll help you" she says

We say goodbye and I end the call

I didn't change cause I was lazy, so I stayed in my sweatpants and shirt

I pick up my books and head down the stairs

"Brian, Sophia I'm going to the neighbours house for some math help" I say

I hear a door being opened, I then see Brian at the top of the steps

"Why don't you just come to me for help" Brian says

"Brian, we both know you suck at math—no offence— anyways, bye" I say while opening my door and closing it shut after me
