Chapter 9 [] Horror Movie?

We held our gaze for the briefest second. Kit was the one to look away first. He buried his face in his book once more. I went ahead and sat across of Beam.

"N'Ming." Beam suddenly spoke, causing me to break the stare that I had on P'Kit.

"Yeah?"

"Have you seen this new movie?" He lifted his phone up to show me a picture of a movie poster.

"No, I haven't. I don't usually watch horror movies."

"Same here," Beam shrugged, "But Ai'Kit here loves horror movies."

He gestured at Kit with his head.

"You do?" I turned my face towards P'Kit.

He was still motionless with no action of lowering the book whatsoever.

"Ai'Kit, don't be shy." I heard Beam whisper to him as he prodded Kit's arm with his elbow.

Kit slammed down the book with a loud bang, causing all the people at the table to flinch.

"Jesus Chri-" Beam began.

"Shy, my ass!" Kit snapped at Beam.

I fought back the smile that was threatening to form. 

"Do you like horror movies, P'?" I asked him.

He turned to me with a glare.

Damn, he looks so fucking pissed.

"Yes, I do." He replied curtly.

I didn't expect that at all. He looks so small and adorable..

"Well, want us to go watch the movie together this weekend?" I continued.

"No. I'm busy." He replied curtly again. 

He was now looking through a notebook.

"You're not busy. You were complaining that you didn't know what to do over this weekend." Beam whispered.

"You shithead." Kit fiercely whispered back.

"Don't be so shy."

"I'm not fucking shy."
