Ann's POV
"What..?" My mouth gaped open as I observed the wolf standing in front of me. "I'm your host?" I repeated, still in awe.

"No. I'm just some random beast protecting you-- Of course you're my host!" The wolf rolled its eyes. "Gosh. So stupid," It mumbled.

"Okay, damn!" I raised my hands, in surrender. "Someone's in a bad mood," I grumbled to myself.

"Don't even start," the wolf growled as it lunged itself at Itachi.

"Wait, Ariadne!"

"Goodbye," Itachi muttered as he made hand signs at a quick pace. "We'll see each other soon."

The wolf was about to tackle him, only for him to turn to dust the moment she even touched him.

"Damn it!" They cursed. "So close! I was so close!"

"It's all right, Ariadne. We can try again next time, we have Ann now. Let's get back to Konoha," Gai stated as he walked over to me.

He gave me his signature smile with a thumbs up. "Are you Ann?" He questioned.

"Yeah! And you're Gai, right?" I said, grinning. I gotta pretend I don't know him even if I do.

He lets out a laugh. "Ahahaha! You know so much," He stated.

"Can we stop talking? I wanna go back," the wolf mumbled.
"How do you go back into me?" I questioned, curiously.

"Like this!!--" The wolf ran at me at a quick speed. It almost seemed like a blur in my eyes.

She's fast!

My eyes closed itself tightly as I prepared myself to be trampled on. But I couldn't feel anything but a small push.

"Hey human--I mean, Ann.. tell that Gai person that we should go get back to Konoha."

I winced as I suddenly heard a voice inside my head.

Wolf..?

"It's Ariadne!!"

Okay!! Geez, hello Ariadne.

"Hello."

It felt so awkward now since I know that there was someone listening to my thoughts.

Strange...

"Strange indeed."

Damn it! Now I can't have any privacy with my thoughts.

"Gai-san! A set of explosive tags has been triggered from within the walls!" a Jounin reported as he entered the room, a panicked expression evident on his features. "We need to get out now!"

Gai nodded and picked me up like I was a sack of potatoes.
"H-hey! Put me down! I can run by myself!" I complained.

I'm guessing Gai either ignored me or just didn't hear me since he started running through the halls. Not like I'm complaining. In all honesty, my body feels tired and drained after all that happened here.

"No offense but you're still a young and youthful spirit!"

We turned random corners and to me, it seemed like we were running in circles, the halls just looked so similar to each other. I wonder how the members familiarized their way in this place.

"Which is why you must be trained to become a proper ninja!" He stated, giving me a thumbs up.

I forced a small grin until I felt as if there was an empty hole in my stomach. It left an unpleasant feeling that made my whole body go numb a bit.
