16. Merriment

Shivaay was going through some files related to the new project. This is one of the biggest projects of the Oberoi Industries.

"May I come in Sir"

"Yes"

"Sir these are the documents you have asked"

"Oh,okay. Keep it there,You can leave Sidharth"

"Sir----"

"What happened. ?"

"Sir,Sweets"

Shivaay was baffled

"Kis khushi mein??You know right, I don't eat sweets"

"Sir,beti hui hai" and he was going to close the box when Shivaay stopped him

"Wait, I will take one" he took a small piece of sweet and ate

Sidharth took out his phone and showed him a picture

"Sir,that's my baby"

Shivaay took phone from his hand and keenly looked at the picture. A small content smile appeared on his face. He caressed the picture as if he is caressing the baby

"Sir,  my wife is not well and the baby needs someone beside her all the time. Our both parents will take a week to reach here in Mumbai. Sir ,huh--So,May I get a week off??" he was shivering when he said that

"Sure Sidharth,This is the time when your wife and baby needs you the most. Ok, you can take leave but make sure when you come back you work double hard for this project"

Sidharth never expected this answer from his boss. He knew his boss changed from the arrogant Shivaay Singh Oberoi to a calmer version (atleast sometimes). Now it was Sidharth's turn to get baffled.

"Th---Thank you Sir. Yes I will do my very best for this project Sir" He turned to leave but he remembered something and came back

"Now what ??" Shivaay asked

"Sir,woh--my phone'

Shivaay totally forgot about that phone,infact he was still adoring the baby's picture.

"Oh--am sorry" he gave back the phone "Sidharth wait a sec"

Shivaay wrote a cheque and gave it to Sidharth

"No Sir, Iski koi zarurat nahi hai"

"This is not for you,It's a gift for your baby"

"Thank you Sir"

Shivaay was back to his work. Checking all the important points for the upcoming presentation but he couldn't concentrate much on the work. He was lost in that angelic face of baby. How serene was she. If they have a baby,she too will be like this or maybe much more beautiful just like his Annika. He smiled to himself. He walked upto the glass window with his espresso. The city was bright,forgetting yesterday's rain. Shivaay observed the people and then a family caught his attention,father,mother and a kid. That kid was pestering the dad for something and mother was annoyed and was telling something to both kid and father. Finally father picked up the kid and walked towards the ice cream parlour,mother face palmed. Shivaay smiled and remembered his and Annika's conversation on that day when Annika thought she was pregnant but was not
