35. The News

Shivaay was pacing frantically in their room. Annika came out of the washroom,she held a small white stick in her hand.

"Kya hua " he asked taking the stick from her hand

"We should wait for three minutes"  she said to which he nodded his head. 

They sat on the bed holding their hands tightly,not taking their eyes off from the white stick. Those three minutes felt like three decades for them.  Their heartbeats where raising ,their grip on the hands became even tighter. And as soon as the third minute was approaching there appeared two pink lines on the pregnancy stick. Their eyes glistened ,breathe hitched, they looked at each other in disbelief. Yes,they were planning to start their family but knowing this all of a sudden and they didn't knew how to react. The excitement and fear crept within them as the reality sunk in even further. 

Before Annika even had the chance to process what is happening Shivaay pulled her towards him and engulfed her in his warm embrace. She wrapped her arms around his torso burying her face into his chest. He cupped her face in his arms,leaned down and placed a soft lingering kiss on her forehead. They stood there,just staring each other,engulfing the moment without exchanging any words. He again took the pregnancy stick and stared at it in disbelief,she too watched him and the stick. They held their hands tightly as a promise for their future.

Soon after knowing about the news Shivaay and Annika went to a gynecologist and confirmed about the pregnancy and now they were excited to share this news with the family. They reminiscence the moments when the family misunderstood that Annika is pregnant. They saw their family's happiness and excitement and now finally the news has come true and they are very much eager to witness their happiness and excitement all over again but this time the news is true. They returned back before the dinner.

During the dinner time all of the family members were seated in their respective chairs.

"I want to share something with you guys" Shivaay started in a serious tone. And the happy faces became a bit tensed hearing his tone

"K-Kya hua Shivaay---sab teek hain??" Pinky asked

"I know ---Bhaiyya got a new khidkithod project" Rudr said

"New project??---We didn't hear something about that" Tej said looking at Sakthi and Sakthi nodded "Haan bhaisaab"

Each one of them were saying some possibilities and didn't allow Shivika to even utter a sentence. Annika held Shivaay's hand tightly under the table

"Guys---Please Relax" Shivaay finally said in a higher tone

Hearing this the atmosphere turned to pin drop silent mode

"Let me explain" Shivaay started

Shivaay took a deep breathe,he looked at Annika,she nodded her head. Each one of the family member were eagerly waiting for Shivaay's revelation

"You guys are being promoted" 

"Promoted?? I didn't even join the company bhaiyya" Rudr said as  a matter of fact. Om slapped Rudy's head

"Shivaay---Can you explain a bit" Om asked

"We are expecting"  finally he said it and the happiness of the family had no bounds

"Expecting?? Whom bhaiyya?"Rudy asked in a confused tone

"There is a reason why Saumya calls you Duffer Singh Oberoi" Om said and hified Saumya

"Rudy we are going to become chachas" Om said and hugged Rudy

"O my mata--Now we will be having my kanchi aankhonwala pothas or my mini khidkithod Annika. I cant wait" said the excited Pinky and kissed Annika's forehead

Dadi came and hugged both Annika and Shivaay,they took blessings from Daadi "Am finally becaming par-daadi" and kissed Annika's head

OmRu were hugging each other and jumping like monkeys while reciting "We are gonna be chachas---yaay". OmRu engulfed Annika in their embrace

"Now am out of the league"said Shivaay crossing his arms on the chest

OmRu opened their arms and the awesome four had an awesome hug.

"Oye move" Gauri and Saumya shoved off OmRu and hugged both Shivaay and Annika

"Congrats Annika Bhabhi" said Saumya hugging Annika tightly

"Careful" Shivaay said and everyone smiled

"The Protective Singh Oberoi is already here. Feeling sad for you bhabhi. Bhaiyya will do your o my mata in these nine months"Rudy said and others agreed 

"Congrats jeeji"Gauri too hugged Annika tightly

 "Waise what will the baby call me Chachi or Mausi??" Gauri asked

"How about chachisi" Rudy said

"Chachisi??"Everyone said in union

"Haan---Chachi + Mausi,which is equal to Chachisi, Logic" he said with logic wala sign

"Shut up Rudr" Everyone said in union, Rudy pouted

"How about Gauri ma?" Annika asked

Gauri's eyes welled up and hugged Annika tightly

"Stop being a cry baby Gauriji" Om said and pulled her towards him

"Shut up you jada dhari hippie" Gauri said and pushed him. Om moved from there and dialled some one's number

"Shivaay from today onwards your most of the time should be with Annika. Me and Sakthi will handle the company,you don't need to worry besides Rudr and Saumya will be joining from next week for their internship and we are sure they will do their best"

"But---"

"No ifs and buts just be with my daughter and take care of her" Tej and Sakthi said in union,both looked at each other and laughed then went and hugged Annika and Shivaay

Om came with his phone "Shivaay, Bhabhi, someone wants to talk to you"

Shivaay took the phone from Om and it was a video call

"Bhaiyya Bhabhii Congratssss----Am becoming bua soon" Prinku from the other end screamed

"Prinkuuu---How are you----Where is Ranveer??----When are you coming back to India??"  Shivaay asked without giving a break

"Bhaiyya I said congrats"

Shivika blushed and said "Thank you"

"How I wish I was there" Priyanka said in a sad tone

"Then come back here,We too miss you"

"You know right bhaiyya,we just started off with our new life. But I promise once everything gets settled we will come back to meet you and my dear chotu"

"Are you fine Prinku" 

"Very much bhaiyya"

"Where is Ranveer"

"He went to office and I have to leave for my class now bhaiyya. I will call you later. Bye. take care and We miss you"

"We too miss you" Everyone said in union

Their dinner passed with happy chattering and more of Annnika's pampering. After dinner everyone retired back to their respective rooms
