After 3 hours of isolation in my room, I finally made this new room look more like me. Floral bedsheets laid down, a fluffy rug at the end of the bed, a wide full length light up mirror hung on the wall, a desk holding up my iMac, resting against the opposite wall. The silver walls and dark carpet really worked with my monotone items. I put away all my clothes and finally made myself known to the rest of the flat. I already knew Harry and Callum, I'd been visiting them whenever I came to visit my brother. I was over here at least 6 times a year, usually for a weekend at a time. I suppose the pre existing friendship made it easier for them to agree to have me over.
"Can I fix you guys anything for dinner?" I asked approaching the kitchen. They all around watching tv in the adjoining living area. "No we've ordered, cal got you stuff." Callum mumbled.
"Oh right where's cal?" I asked. "Gone out, he'll be back in 20." Harry mumbled. "I'll join him there, I'm going to run to get my charger, I left it in your car, mind if I grab the keys." Callum turns to Harry. "Sure mate, they're on my dresser." He said without even turning. Callum was up on his feet and with a few fumbles the front door closed behind him. The sound of the tv became muted and Harry turned to me. "Alright?"
"Yeah, just a lot to take in." I forced a a pathetic smile.
"I remember those days." He said leaning over the back of the sofa to face me. "I'd just look at the view if I ever felt off." He looked at me in a way that made me feel like he understood without knowing. It was calming. I walked over to the massive wall length windows and stared out at the London skyline. The lights glistening in the dark. Harry move startled me as he left the sofa and sat on the floor, looking out at the lights. I sat where I was standing and looked at Harry, I'd know him for so long but never really knew him.
"That's the London stadium." He pointed out. "Right, it's huge." I said raising my eyebrows.
"And there's the shard." He said pointing to the tiny triangle in the background. "What else?" I asked staring at one particular light. My eyes growing heavy as I hypnotised myself.
"Oh, yeah no that's all I know." He said breathy laughing. I looked him and gave him a genuine smile.
"You should smile more often." He mumbled. I was a little taken back, my heart warmed in the moment. He began to get up off the floor while continuing "your mug usually looks like you've got a stick up your arse." He laughed. I gasped and pushed his leg from the floor "You douche." I laughed. I shook my head to myself as I laughed off the moment.
