there was a new girl.

she had long, brown hair, and pretty light brown eyes. she had a cute smile, and small dimples to accompany them.

as she watched her interact with other students from across the room, yue couldn't help but think that the girl was everything she was not.

kai stared at yue as she watched her, noticing the change in her mood. her face suddenly got even more gloomy, if possible. he followed her line of sight, and mentally sighed at what he saw.

the new girl, who's name was minha, was sitting in front of beomgyu, trying to make light talk with him.

"sorry to bother you, but could you help me with this problem?"

beomgyu didn't even look up at her, "didn't the teacher just go over it?"

she sighed, "well, yeah, but i didn't get it. also, you look smart, so i figured you could help me."

beomgyu rubbed his aching temple, before nodding, "fine. what problem is it?"

kai sighed, before grabbing the sides of her head and forcing her to look away, "if it makes you sad, don't look."

she immediately smiled, but he could see in her eyes that it wasn't genuine, "psh, who said i was sad? i'm perfectly fine."

kai, unconvinced, just nodded, "ok. hurry up and finish, i want lunch."

yue chuckled, packing up her things.

"is hamasaki yue in this class?"

she looked up at the sound of her name, "uh, that's me. what's wrong?"

"choi yeonjun wants to see you in the hallway."

a chorus of 'ooo's sounded through the classroom, causing beomgyu to look up at the commotion.

most of the students walked over to the window to hopefully catch a glimpse of what would happen.

beomgyu couldn't ignore his curiosity as he strolled over to the window, peaking out over the tops of his fellow students' heads.

"hi," yeonjun smiled, nervously.

yue smiled warmly back, "you wanted to see me?"

"i wanted to say that," he took a deep breath, and continued, "i've liked you for a little while now, and i was wondering if you, maybe, wanted to go see a movie sometime?"

yue's eyes widened at his proposal, having never been in this situation before. sure, she had rejected guys before, but it was much easier to do that when it was in letter form, rather than to their face.

she turned her head to scan the crowd of students at the window, almost double taking when she saw beomgyu among them.

"i- uh, sure?"
