NC's POV:
I sat on the ground by Tennessee and California. Tennessee was bleeding out and I was trying to make it stop. North Dakota had messed up his face really badly.... Where even was Texas? Had he been too weak to watch Tennessee die?! California seemed to only sleep through everything, but her pulse remained so I let her rest. She is still incredibly sick. The other state who'd taken them just watched this happen..... Watched me struggle to keep two people from dying. It made me sick. I was scared. I missed West Virginia and Tennessee engaging in two V two competitions with Kentucky and Virginia. Hell, I missed the good old days when I'd never fought with any of the states. Though Tennessee made those days hard to miss sometimes, he had always been trying to get everyone's attention as a kid. I couldn't believe he was bleeding out in my arms right now, and that I couldn't do anything. And the sound of California's fragile breaths beside me made all of my senses make me want to throw up.
