New year new me...........fuck that shit, imma be the same me till I die.

'HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!' Mary and Kayla shouted as they embraced me into a hug

'Happy new year to y'all too' I said back

Wait a damn minute........

'Kayla-' I paused '-look at me for a minute........girl what happened to you?'

'Well, I may have lost a few pounds over Christmas' she said

'All that Christmas food and your body is looking snatched as fuck!' Mary said

'I had to cut down on some of the Christmas food, plus I'm making my parents proud as well' she smiled

'Kay, make sure you're loosing weight for yourself, not to please other people' I reminded her

I remembered her saying way back how her parents shamed her for her weight. It's good to see her coming into the new year slimmed down after the holidays, but I want her to do what's best for her, not what's best for other people.

'I am loosing weight for myself and I'm very proud about it' she said

'Alright then, that's good to hear' I smiled at her

'KAYLA!' Dalvin roared across the school halls as it made me, Mary and Kayla herself jump

'Are you a fucking dinosaur to be bellowing like this!' I heard DeVante's voice as their presence came closer

'Well look at you' Dalvin twirled Kayla around 'My home girl is glowing'

I'm still surprised how they're not dating as yet......or maybe they are.......Nah Kay would've told me if they were seeing each other.

'Yeah girl you look good' K-Ci Said

'Well it's weird to hear something nice come out your mouth about Kay' Dalvin said that I just noticed

K-Ci would never say anything nice about her, now she's trimming down, he got something nice to say all of a sudden.

'I give a girl a compliment and now it's a damn problem' K-Ci huffed

'Yeah because now she's looking thinner in your eyes, she looks good to you' Dalvin became defensive

'Guys I'm still here' Kayla said as I could feel she felt a little bit uncomfortable

'Yeah she does look good, am I supposed to lie?' K-Ci didn't see a problem as I looked over at Mary as a vein was forming through her neck

'And I don't?' Mary felt a little jealous

'Please, can we not start the new year with drama?'Jo-Jo was getting sick and tired of the back and forth

'Nah baby you always look good' K-Ci tried to cheer Mary up

'Well stop trying to get with my friends or we are going to have a problem' Mary gripped K-Ci's jaw

'Don't be grabbing my jaw like that, I ain't five' K-Ci pushed Mary's hand away

'Well stop acting like a five year old then' and with that, Mary and K-Ci walked off

'Thank God!' DeVante sighed in relieve 'Her ass is annoying'

'Hey, that's my girl at the end of the day' I nudged DeVante

'Well happy New Year to you too' DeVante smiled as I smiled back at him

'Hmm......happy new year' I said

'You didn't sound like you meant it' he said

'Look Nigga-'

'What happened to Janet Jackson?' DeVante asked as he noticed that I didn't have my box braids in

'I can't have them in forever, I need to take them out and let my hair breathe' I laughed at his stupidity

He knows damn well that girls can't keep box braids in their hair for too long.

'Well good because I like seeing Kelly Brown than Janet Jackson' he said

'I don't understand, why can't he just dump Ashley and get back with Kelly?' I heard Dalvin mutter his thoughts to Jo-Jo and Kayla

'They looked so cute together......' I could sense Kayla gushing at us

'Look, that's my boy at the end of the day and he's with Ashley' Jo-Jo said

'Y'all mind?' I asked as me and DeVante turned our faces in their direction

'Yes, do y'all mind? my mind took the time to process who the hell just repeated my sentence 'Happy New year babe'

'Y'all gone make me bring my breakfast back up' I heard Dalvin say in disgust as DeVante and Ashley shared a kiss

'Looking at you is gonna make me bring my breakfast back up!' Ashley spat back

'Look not today man, just ignore him' DeVante said

'Hmmm......' Ashley took the time to look me up and down 'I see you still after my man'

If she knew that DeVante took me home the other time........

'And I see you still trying to suck every man's dick behind DeVante's back' I said back 'Look I don't wanna start any bullshit with you so imma bounce'

Dalvin, Kayla and Jo-Jo followed off with me as I heard some bickering going on between Ashley and DeVante.

'Quit staring at her ass' I smirked at Ashley's comment

'I ain't staring at her ass' I heard DeVante say
