"Good. That's really good. I'm so glad." Mack spoke with relief that Addy found the peace she was searching for.

Half of him hoped that now she was done with her break. Half of him hoped she was now ready to come back; back to the apocalypse.

"It's--I'm sure it's gonna be hard to leave that." Mack's chocolate hues were hesitant about talking about leaving the place Addy began to love more than him, fearing the worse from all this.

Little did he know, fear was something that told us of our doubts, even when we didn't think we had any thing to doubt. Half of Mack didn't doubt Addy and (Y/N), but yet, half of him did doubt they'd be coming back home.

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about. It's too much."

Mack shot his head back up at Addy's face; his fears becoming reality.

"I can't do it anymore, Mack."

'Maybe she just forgot I can't be there with her.'

"But Addy, I can't stay there with you, remember?"

Still, the red-haired woman refused to back out of this decision she had made with herself and with the help of Helen. She believed she needed a mental and physical break from the apocalypse; she also believed she wouldn't survive if she saw her lover die.

The woman now began to feel like if she stayed in their world longer, she wouldn't see the day of there being a cure. Addy removed herself from the log in silence, but Mack grabbed her wrist to try and prevent her disappearance.

"I need rest."

Carol's whole body weight was in my lap as I tried to sooth the crying teenager. Her head was buried in between my neck and shoulder as both of her arms were wrapped around my shoulders.

"Carol." I sighed, my legs began to go numb under all this weight.

Jesus Christ, how long have we been positioned like this? Has Warren and Cassandra already left?

"Carol.." I sighed, patting her shaking shoulders.

She has yet to stop crying. Not one second of peace has been brought to my ears. Warren and Cassandra can't leave without Addy; our remaining female member has yet to come back from wherever Helen sent her to.

I couldn't be any assistance in getting any clues out of Helen about Addy's whereabouts, considering I had a child on my lap and clinging to me too much.

"I have to go back to my group." I repeated for the twentieth time.

Carol shook her head, rubbing her head against my shoulder. She squeezed herself closer to my body even more. How did we get like this? She literally tackled me down and I couldn't hold her up with my wounds.

So, we fell. Carol had cushion. I did not. In the time it took for me to recover from the blow, she had took the time to get on top of me and wrap her whole freaking body around mine. She's not cute anymore.

Clingy is no longer cute anymore.

"Pl-Please, don't l-l-leave me." She begged, sniffling up the snot she was voluntarily bringing onto my shoulder.

Oh, yeah, I'm gonna need a new shirt now. A glimpse of red caught my attention from the carrot top that sat in my lap. Addy. I swung my head around to see her stomping towards the medical ward that was a few feet away from Carol and I.

Cassandra and Warren were already inside the building, awaiting for the target's arrival. Good.

"Carol, off. I have to go see Addy."

"Can-Can I come?" She whispered, clinging even tighter than before.

If that was even possible. She's a clingy snake that'll break my ribs if I try to even think about leaving her one more time.

"Yeah, yeah. Of course." I muttered, mindlessly; I'll say anything to get you off of me.

Together, with Carol wrapped tightly around my hurt arm, we made it into the building.

"Maybe I could help?" Helen asked with her back to me as she faced Warren and Cassandra.

She had entered the building with two of her guards before Carol and I could.

"I think we've had enough of your help." Warren growled, being pushed back by one of the blondes by Helen's side.

Oh, I wouldn't do that. I stayed behind all the females, just letting the scene unfold in front of me. What has Helen done now?

"Addy? It's me. Open the door." Helen spoke louder so the woman on the other side of the glass window door would hear her.

"Addy?" Cassandra tried to catch Addy's attention when she did, in fact, unlock the door for Helen.

When Cassandra tried to go inside the room with Helen, Helen's woman pushed her backwards into a stand.

"Don't touch me." Cassandra hissed, glaring at the young woman.

The two women began to glare at each other while Helen locked the door behind her. Warren watched, carefully and quietly, as the two spoke amongst each other in the small room. What's.. What's happening in there?

"Don't worry." Warren tried to assure me and Cassandra at the same time, but something in her voice told me I shouldn't expect Addy to come back with us.

Part of me already knew this. Half of me didn't want this. The rest of me felt guilty since I could tell where all of this was heading and couldn't do anything about it. How will Mack react? Will Mack come with me or stay with Addy?

"(Y/N).." A shy voice asked from below me.

I looked down, questioning her silently with my narrowed eyebrows.

"Since Addy is staying with us, does that mean you'll stay? With me? With Addy?"

"No." Cassandra and Warren answered in sync before I could even breathe the word.

"You heard them." I muttered, turning away from the all-too-cheerful teenager.

Why does she want me to stay so bad? She doesn't even know my favorite color so why be so addicted to something you barely know anything about? Finally, after a few minutes, we all watched Addy and Helen stand up.

Addy gifted Helen with a tight hug before walking towards us. Our girl was smiling, even blushing after their conversation. What the hell was said in there? Addy was the one to open up the door.

The two women that was semi-holding Cassandra and Warren backed away when Helen nodded her head.

"Go ahead. Tell them. Tell them what you told me." Helen encouraged Addy's opinionated voice.

My sister-in-law took a deep breath before opening up to us, "I've made up my mind. I'm staying here with Helen."

"No." I said breathlessly, not wanting to actually process the words she spoke to me.

"Addy." Warren shook her head slowly like that was enough to get Addy to come back with us.

She can't be serious. This is a joke, right?

"Trouble at the gate. We need you." A woman spoke from behind Carol and I's back.

Her voice was barely heard through my ears as I just stared at the new Addison Carver. Helen said something before leaving us be with our girl.

"Addy, I know this place feels safe; it feels good. Well, that's how I felt when I met Tobias. It wasn't real. You and me, we've been through so much." Cassandra's tone was soft in this moment as she grabbed onto Addy's arm for balancing .

Still, Addy kept that smile. She never flinched or backed down from her decision. She-She can't be serious. She's not actually going to throw away three years in the apocalypse with us for a woman she just met?!
