Chapter 3: The Start of the Task

"I am very disappointed in you, Ms. Montero," he looked at me with pure disbelief.

How many times do I have to tell him that it wasn't me who started the vandalisms! This old man is irritating my beautiful face!

I restrained myself from rolling my eyes at him as I avoid eye contact. I started poking my face using my fingers gently to keep my beauty from being ruined by this principal in front of me and from this bad boy who pays no attention to neither of us and kept tapping on his phone.

"Why should you?", I asked, restraining the sarcasm that was about to come out of my mouth.

"Anong bakit? I just caught you spray-painting on Mr. Evans' clothes! Not just me actually, even the staffs saw you vandalising on someone!", frustration is all over his face.

"I will not confirm nor deny of any sort regarding that matter," I said lowly.

"I am not implying jokes with you, Ms. Montero. Be serious enough."

"And I'm not either!", I snapped. "I told you, hindi ako ang may pakana ng mga vandalism na nangyayare. He was the one who started it, not me!", sabay turo sa walanghiyang bad boy, looking so bored sitting down while I'm so frustrated right now standing!

We both glared at each other for a couple of seconds but then the principal stopped us when he felt that we might start a little war inside his beautiful office.

Hinilot ng principal ang kanyang sentido. "I am not talking about the vandals, Caitlyn, what I am trying to point out is the fact that you sprayed paint on Mr. Evans' clothes. It is an unladylike behaviour to execute coming from a role model like you."

Doon ako natahimik sa sinabi niya. My lips pursed as I kept my head low. By this time, sigurado akong nagc-circulate na ang mga chismis tungkol sa akin at paniguradong nakaabot na ito sa Eagle Press-con. Which means, any time now ay nakapag-publish na sila ng article about the incident earlier.

Iniwas ko ang aking paningin as Mr. Hennigan sighed deeply. "Look, your job is to catch them and not be one of them. With the act you pulled off awhile ago, I'm afraid this calls for a meeting regarding with the holder of the Valedictorian title."

Though my eyes are focused on his moving lips, still, my visions slightly became blurry by the shocking moment.

I won't be the first choice of becoming the Valedictorian student?

The last thing that I could vaguely hear was the closing of the door before I saw the principal gesturing me to sit down. Lutang naman akong sumunod.
