Chapter 18: Caught? Quite

"Did they leave already?", bulong ni Fawn.

Talulah fished out her phone and checked it.

"I don't see any movements in the balcony nor the window near Caitlyn's desk," sagot ni Talulah.

Umirap muna ako bago ko kinuha ang phone sa loob ng bulsa ng suot kong robe. I turned it on, typed the passcode and clicked a button. Matagal nag-vibrate ang phone ko dahilan para mapatingin ang dalawa sa akin.

"What's that?", tanong nilang dalawa.

"It's a newly built app, designed to check if there are any burglars hiding somewhere near the modernized tasers installed on the railings of our balcony, on the wall, and the ones wrapped around the vines," sagot ko.

"When did we have one of those?", curious na tanong ni Fawn.

"I'm the queen remember?"

Mahina silang napatawa. I quickly turned off my phone. Tumayo ako para ma-charge ang cellphone.

"Wala naman kayong narinig na sigaw o kaya naman ay mga lalakeng nahulog sa sementadong lupa sa baba diba?", tanong ko.

"Obviously umalis na talaga sila," Talulah said.

Saglit kaming nagkatitigan na tatlo bago napatawa ng malakas.

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe we all made those up right at that moment!", natatawang wika ni Fawn.

Dumiretso ako sa bintana malapit sa mesa ko at sinarado iyon. "Maybe I should've put this robe down, halatang 'yon ang hinihintay nina Dante at Brad na mangyare."

"I can't believe they were actually spying on us," Talulah said.

Fawn lied down on our sofa. "I know, right? Buti na lang at madali kong nalaman ang plano nila."

"But the part where you explained to me why you were angry? Was it real?", ako.

"Yup! But I'm still the President of the fandom, no one can ever take that away from me. However, the whole Sharpay scheme? Priceless!", humalakhak siya ng malakas. "Seriously though, I already received important details regarding Heath's schedule."

Parang kuminang ang mga mata ko sa narinig. "Really?"

"Yup! You can find him at this place," lumapit si Fawn sa akin dala-dala ang cellphone. "And ngayon ko lang nalaman na may resort pala na ganito kaganda. It looks really luxurious and it's somewhat designed for wealthy people, I don't understand why residents of our town doesn't know about this place. Only few left reviews about this hidden resort, but how come I don't have any knowledge about it?", reklamo niya.

Kinuha ko ang phone sa kanya.

"Oh ba't mo kinuha?", sinubukan ni Fawn kunin ang phone pero nilayo ko ito sa kanya.

Ganoon ang posisyon naming dalawa nang maramdaman kong wala na ang phone sa kamay ko. Natigilan ako, ganoo din si Fawn na nakapatong sa akin na napuno ng pagtataka. Tumingala ako at nakita si Talulah na nakatayo sa likod ko hawak-hawak ang gadget.

"You don't need this phone anymore," wika niya.

"But I want to see it!", maktol ko.

"You will, dear. Magbihis ka at may pupuntahan tayo," nalipat ang tingin niya kay Fawn na nakapatong pa rin sa akin. "At ikaw din, magpalit ka na ng damit. I'll be waiting for the both of you in the car."

"But it's already dark outside. We are not allowed to leave the school."

Tumaas ang kilay ni Talulah sa sinabi ko.
