A Prophecy

The days flew by fast. Everyday Umbridge seem to put up rules, but she called them decrees. I thought they were all stupid. And she wasn't headmaster so she shouldn't be making these rules.

Every Daily Prophet newspaper had something about how great she was making things. I thought it was a living hell. Just what I said in the beginning of the year.

She's walk down the halls. If someone isn't doing something right or breaking one of her rules, she fix them right away. She come in and watch how teachers would teach. She's write down things on her clipboard and interrupt them if she had questions. Quite rude and disrespectful, which was one of the things she couldn't stand. But whatever, I guess.

She was getting onto Professor Trelawney. I noticed how many questions she asked her compared to Snape's. I was almost afraid she was going to try and kick her out.

Once we were having fun in the courtyard with the Weasley twins and their cool fireworks. She shut that down immediately. I almost got onto her but I remembered to keep my mouth shut until it was for something worse.

By a couple of weeks, an entire wall was filled with her "decrees". I stared at it with disbelief. How can someone be so vigilant yet so sane? Wait, she's not. My bad.

One day, I was leaving a class. Everyone was all going in the same direction. I caught up with Fred and George, "What's going on guys?"

"Something about Professor Trelawney and Umbridge," Fred answered.

"You've got to be kidding me," I thought out loud. I ran towards the square outside. I saw a crying Trelawney clutching her bags for dear life while Umbridge was smiling.

"Please," Trelawney begged. "Don't...Don't do this. Hogwarts is my only home."

I stepped forward. Across to the other side, I saw Harry and Hermione. They didn't seem to thrilled. Harry looked at me. His eyes went wide as he saw me. He shook his head and mouthed to me, 'Don't you dare.'

I watched the scene unfold, "I don't...think that you...you can do this," Trelawney was shaking.

"I can, actually," Umbridge held up a slip of paper.

I walked towards Trelawney. The students watched as I got in front of her. "You are not the Headmaster of this school. In fact, all your rules shouldn't even be followed since they aren't actual rules."

"You are not to get in this," She argued. "You are not a teacher."

"She may not be," McGonagall was walking fast towards me, "but I am. You are not allowed to be doing this."

"I am a part of the Ministry. Now, any other things you'd like to say before we send her off?"

"There are many things I would like to say," McGonagall snarled. "But I am a good role model."

The castle doors opened with loud creaking. Dumbledore came walking fast towards us. Everyone went into a whisper.

"Ms. Meadows and Professor McGonagall please help Professor Trelawney back up to her room," Dumbledore requested.

I nodded and grabbed a few of her bags. Professor McGonagall grabbed the last one. We began to help the Professor back to her tower, but I stopped to hear what Dumbledore was going to say to her.

"Headmaster Dumbledore, do I need to remind you that education decree number 26, as put into action by the Minister-"

"You may have the ability to dismiss my teachers," Dumbledore argued, "but you are not allowed to banish them from the grounds. That power belongs to the Headmaster, whom you are not."

"Not yet," Umbridge spoke in her tiny voice. I rolled my eyes. I really didn't want to hear the rest of this. I turned and began to walk to the astronomy tower.

I met up with Professor McGonagall as she was walking down the stairs, "Hey. Just to let you know, Umbridge is after Dumbledore's job. But you better beat her to it."

She patted my shoulder, "I will do everything I can to not allow that to happen, Bridget."

"Thank you," I nodded. I continued up the stairs. I walked into the room. Everything had gone rather quiet. I set the bags down next to the door of her office.

I looked around. It was rather empty too. I turned to the door to leave. I took two steps before something gripped my hand hard. I turned and Professor Trelawney was holding both of my hands. She seemed to be out of it. "Professor?" I asked.

She took a huge breath.

"To find the answers
you mustn't look to far
The one to fear is not behind bars
Near the end
the glass house will shatter
Revealing those who truly matter
Your enemy will act as a friend
And the house of Black's rein shall end.
All the pain is worth the wait.
Check the signs before it's too late."

She gasped again. I couldn't believe what I had heard. What did any of it mean?

"I'm sorry dear," she pat my hands. "Did I say something?"

I shook my head, "No," I squeaked out. "Have a good day." I turned and exited the tower. I assumed it was a prophecy. But what did it mean? I whispered to myself as I walked down the halls.

"Hey, Bridge," Fred put his arm around me.

"How ya been holdin up?" George came around to the other side.

"Ya look a bit pale," they said in unison.

"Just a little tired," I lied. "I need to get some rest."

"Rest?" Fred asked.

"But it's 4 o'clock in the afternoon," George stated.

"I know," I nodded. "I just didn't get enough sleep. I'll see you boys later."

"Later? Why later?" George asked.

"Why don't we walk ya back to the common room?" Fred suggested.

"I mean you could-"

"Great!" They cheered in unison.

"You guys are so weird," I shook my head, trying to hide my chuckle. "Too weird."
