I wake up a mess.
Like a total, complete, one hell of a mess.
I wake up with a cold, a pounding headache and a fever.
"Seems like you've got the flu, buddy." Dad says as he looks at the thermometer. "I'm gonna call the school that you can't go, alright?"
I nod then sneeze shortly after.
He exits the room and closes the door behind him, I text my friends using the group chat since I know they still aren't off to school.
To: Lizelle Monroe, Alison Morris, Jason Hays, Ethan Hawks
Can't go to school, really really sick :(
Lizelle: Oh shut up I know you're happy you get to skip school
Shawn: I'm dying here, shut your mouth you tramp.
Ethan: I'll miss you :(
Alison: Fuck off Ethan lololol
Ethan: I was kidding!
Shawn: You're not single anymore, remember?
Ethan: I know! I was kidding! Omg! Guys!
Jason: Suuuure
Ethan: Ugh
Lizelle: Hey, let's visit Shawn after school, what do you guys say?
Jason: As long as he doesn't get me sick, I have a test tomorrow.
Alison: He doesn't have Ebola, Jason. He won't get you sick.
Jason: You don't know that yet
Shawn: I'm pretty fucking sure this isn't Ebola.
Lizelle: Don't be a pussy, Jason.
Jason: I'm not being a pussy!
Alison: Yeah you are.
Jason: Fine! I'll go!
Ethan: Why do I get the feeling that the girls are ganging up on the guys? Do both of you have your period?
Alison: Shut up Ethan.
Ethan: You shut up
Lizelle: Guys shut up
Jason: No, you shut up
LIzelle: Fuck off Jason
Alison: All of you, fuck off.
Ethan: No, you fuck off, Alison
Shawn: You guys figure this out, and if you're coming here, can you get me some donuts on the way? Okay, bye all.
I log off. "Daisyyy" I call out, I need a cuddle buddy.
She hops on my bed and licks my face, I pat the space beside me and she lies down, her back to me. I wrap my arm around her and she yawns, making me yawn too.

I get up, all sweaty and suffering from a headache.
