“This means…?”

Kaede was sweating and Nagisa had a glimpse of her skeptical frown. Who can blame her? Neither Nagisa believed that someone would return his phone in a short span of time, and exactly in Kunugigaoka.

That proves the spy ‘thing’.

“The spy is inside this building. And it’s hard to say this, but he or she is someone who knows us, worse… close to us.” Nagisa frowned.

This was harder than they thought.

They never imagined being suspicious to a friend. No, they never planned this. They were completely caught unprepared in this situation.

Sure they always do ‘what-if’s’ and all sorts, but still, it’s uncomfortable to hunt down someone you know… or a friend.

“Did you already talked to Karma and Rio?” Kaede snapped Nagisa’s train of thoughts.

He shook his head and the bell momentarily rang, signaling the start of another exam.

“English was easy as peeing, don’t you think?” Rio nudged Karma.

“Well, I’m expecting a 100% score. So it’s an insult to ask me that lowly question of yours, Rio.” Karma taunted.

“Hey, stop it. This isn’t the time to play.” Nagisa was clearly serious, making them turn their attention to him, “Someone’s spying on us.” He whispered, enough for Karma, Rio and Kaede to hear.

Rio and Karma were not that surprised. How could they be after everything what happened in these past months? Of course they are expecting this, though not the ‘one-of-our-friends’ fact.

“Explain the details.” Karma turned serious.

“You see, we rode the train and felt someone’s burning glare.” Nagisa sighed, “And I intentionally dropped my phone after removing suspicious messages and call logs.” He idly reached for his phone in his pocket, refraining from pulling it out.

“What bugged me most was… Isogai gave it to me during the break. If my calculations were correct, I should have received my phone either by late afternoon or tomorrow, or receive nothing at all. But the fact that someone returned it at a time almost exactly the same as we arrived here, or possibly earlier, proves something.”

“You’re saying that the culprit is inside this school, specifically in this room--” Rio’s deducing when someone butted in.

“Hey, Nagisa. Are you talking about the exam? Man… English was sooooo difficult, right? I barely finished half of the questions.” Tomohito complained with frustration.

Rio and Karma snickered while Kaede looked at Nagisa with the questioning face, thinking-what-I-am-thinking?

“Y-Yeah, but it’s not that super hard.” Nagisa tried to be sympathetic, avoiding Tomohito to feel worse, and smiled comfortingly. But hidden in this smile was a growing suspicion.

We cannot trust anyone for now. Sorry Sugino and everyone. Nagisa tried to brush it off but failed.

“Makes sense. I remember you on supplementary class in English last year.” Hiroto sitting in the front desk joined in.

“Yeah bro. See you soon… again.” Tomohito sneered back.

Along the dead air, they heard a familiar thud beside Tomohito. They all looked at Yuzuki who was miserably banging her head on her desk.

“You too, Fuwa-san?!” Kaede cried.

“I hate English.” Yuzuki cursed.

“Can you stop procrastinating?!” Nagisa sweat-dropped.
