One particular part in Kunugigaoka middle school was crowded today. It was expected that almost all students were desperate to see their rankings on the recent exam.
Yuuma patiently searched for a spot where he can see the rankings clearly and quickly, even though the names were readable even to the farthest corner of the corridor. Who couldn't read it? It was printed in big and bold strokes after all.
He finally made his way in front of the crowd. He felt like watching a live performance of his favorite bands, with the twist of finding himself on the stage as well. As soon as he stepped on the perfect place, Yuuma immediately looked at the top rankings.
He gasped in surprise.
The principal's son, Asano Gakushu was just on the second place, tied with class 3-E's Nakamura Rio garnering 599 points.
Yuuma could hear the other students' gasp too. Everyone was expecting Gakushu to top the exam but Karma got it this time.
Usually, Karma would tied with Gakushu on first place if not, Karma would be on the second place. No one expected that Gakushu would have a mistake.
Yuuma excitedly ran back to their classroom to announce the good news.

"Hey buddy, don't you want to check the ranking?" Karma lazily put her hands inside his pockets.
"Mmm. Maybe later. The place would be crowded by now." Nagisa humbly replied with his usual smile.
"What about you Rio? Wanna bet who's on the top--?" Karma's smirk was quickly replaced by a wider grin when an unwelcomed visitor came shouting on the doorway.
Yuuma stood outside their classroom as he watched the current top 2 student, "Asano-san."
"I'm going to get on top Akabane! Easily and quickly." Gakushu smiled threateningly before speeding out from the scene.
"Yeah, I want you to try." Karma answered, enough for Gakushu to get.
Everyone in the room sweat-dropped.
"I guess you owe us some ice cream Karma." Nagisa proudly smiled.
Rio sighed on her thought, you're on third spot idiot.
Before anyone can further react on the latest news, Yuuma jolted inside.
"Everyone! Our class topped the exam." He paused to give emphasis to the good news, "That's right. Karma's on top, followed by Nakamura-san tied with Asano-san on second, and Nagisa-kun on third. Takebayashi-kun's on fifth. Please check the results! Congratulations everyone!" After that, he panted heavily.
Everyone blinked, processing Yumma's words before reacting.
"YOSHIEEEE!" They cheered.
"Our group effort payed off!" Takuya sighed in relief.
Rio turned her head to look at Ryoma's group while intently listening to the mutterings, These guys had group study?
"Thank you for helping us Takebayashi-kun!" Yada commented along the murmurs.
"That's nothing. We have to thank him for accommodating us." Koutarou whispered while adjusting his glasses.
"Hayami-san, did you joined the group study?" Rio curiously asked to the person behind her.
"No." Rinka coldly answered.
"Where were you that time?" She pushed.
"I'm afraid I can't answer that Nakamura." Rinka replied bluntly as she turned behind her and started talking to Ryuunosuke and Manami.
