Midnight's POV

I was laying down in my bed. I was still half asleep and started to hear Alpha, Galand, Ethan talking.

Ethan: should we wake him up?

Alpha: I already tried. He's a really heavy sleeper.

Galand: should I slap him?

Alpha: what is wrong with you?

Galand: what, my dad does it all the time.

Alpha: ok, I'm not even gonna respond to that.

Just then, Umbra decided to bud in.

Umbra: hey kid, get up. Sleep is for the weak.

Midnight: UHHHHHHHHH!

I sat up and rubbed my eyes.

Alpha: finally.

I yawned and saw them all in their school uniforms.

Galand: morning, oh valiant leader.

Midnight: sorry, guys. I have a habit of sleeping over my alarm.

I got out of bed and put on my uniform.

Ethan: we still have 2 hours before we gotta head to class. We should start unpacking.

Midnight: sure.

I opened my suit cases and started moving my clothes from the bag to the dresser. The rest of my team seemed to be doing the same. Galand and Ethan were putting up various posters.

I turned and noticed Alpha placing books on the self. 1 in particular caught my eye. Demonology.

Midnight: um Alpha, what is this book.

Alpha: oh, that? I have kind of a strange interest in the consept of demons. The power they possess, their relation to the underworld. Granted, I don't know if the stuff in that book is true or not. People have plenty of different ideas.

I took it down from the shelf and began flipping through the pages. Some of the stuff in here was pretty intriguing.

Midnight: hm, I might just have to borrow this from you sometime.

Umbra: I like this boy. He has an infatuation with my kind. Interesting.

Alpha: OH, THANK GOD! I was sceptical about bring that cause I thought my team would think I was weird.

Midnight: everyone's weird in their own way.

We finished unpacking and admired our room.

Galand: nice job, guys.

Alpha: I still don't know how you managed to fit a mini fridge in your bag.

Galand: never question the laws of physics.

Alpha: THAT'S NOT PHYSICS, IF ANYTHING IT DEFIES THE LAWS OF PHYSICS!

Ethan looked down at his watch and his eyes widened.

Ethan: GUYS, WERE GONNA BE LATE FOR CLASS!

Midnight: OH, CRAP! COME ON!

We opened the door and watched as team RWBY zoomed by us.

Umbra: you should follow them.

Midnight: we should follow them.

Timeskip brought to you by chibi Alpha running on all fours

Port: monsters, demons, prowlers of the night. Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names, but I merely refer to them as prey, and you shall too upon graduating from this prestigious academy.

Umbra: old fool, comparing my kind to the grimm. I'll crush him like dirt beneath my feet.

Midnight: you're not doing anything. Remember, you can't control my body unless I give you permission.

Umbra: damnit!

Port: now, as I was saying. Vale as well as the other 3 kingdoms are Safe Havens in an otherwise treacherous world. Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces, and that's where we come in. Huntsman, huntresses.

Professor Port winked at Yang.

Umbra: does that not make you upset in any way?

Midnight: what, no. She's just a friend.

Umbra: don't lie to me. I can hear your every thought and I can feel your blood boiling.

Midnight: *whispers* would you shut up already?

Alpha: you ok, man.

Midnight: y-yeah, I'm fine. Just lost in thought.

Port continued.

Port: individuals who have sworn to protect those who can not protect themselves.

Umbra: what's the point. Those who aren't capable of handling themselves in a fight are weak and need to die.

I just ignored him.

Port: from what, you ask. Why, the very world. That is what you are training to become, but first a story. A tale of a young, handsome man...me

Umbra: man, get over yourself.

Midnight: oh, you're one to talk! Can you not just start talking while we're in the middle of class, I'm trying to actually learn something here.

Umbra: learn?! I thought you came here to perfect your combat skills!

Midnight: this is a school, NOT A DOJO! I came here to learn how to fight grimm, and I can't do that if I don't know anything ABOUT grimm. So just shut up, keep your thoughts to yourself, and let me listen.

Umbra: fine.

Professor Port finished his story.

Port: the moral of the story, a true huntsman must be honorable. A true huntsman must be dependable. A true huntsman must be strategic, well educated, and wise. So, who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?

Weiss threw up her hand.

Weiss: I do, sir!

Port: well, then...let's find out.

Suddenly, the door to the class room opened and there stood Glynda Goodwitch.

Port: oh, Miss Goodwitch, what a surprise. Is there something you needed?

Glynda: yes, professor Ozpin wishes to have a word with mister Nox...personally.

My head perked up and everyone turned to me.

Umbra: oh no.

I got up from my seat and miss Goodwitch began escorting me to Ozpin's office. I had no idea what was going on. As far as I know, I hadn't gotten into any trouble, so what could this be about?
