My seventh and last year at Hogwarts. It was disheartening thinking about it really, how much memories and time I had spent here. The time went by so quickly and now I was soon to turn eighteen by the end of the year. An adult.
I knew I wanted to do something with mystic creatures as they intrigued me so much and I did pretty well on the subject. The Hogwarts train had arrived and so had most of the students waiting to board the train. I went and sat down at a empty seat that was next to Harry, Ron and Hermione as I hadn't really spoke much to them since the quidditch cup. I didn't really speak to Ron but I spoke to hermione and Harry the entire journey towards the school. "I can't believe this is you're last year! You're quidditch team is going to be a hell of a lot easier to beat when you're gone" Harry chuckled and I smirked "Just means that I'm going to work twice as hard to kick you're ass this year" "Anything from the trolley dears" the older lady said pushing along her trolley that she seemed to always be with. "Ummm can I have a liquorice wand?" I ask and she smiled taking one out and passes it to me. I give her the appropriate amount of money and a bit extra and she looked to Ron. "Packet of drewbals and a liquorice wand" he looks down at his palm and recognised he didn't have enough money. "On second thought, just the drewbals" "It's alright I'll get it" Harry offered "just the drewbals, thanks" she gave him the packet and he handed the money. "Two pumpkin pasties please" Cho walks up to the trolley. I roll my eyes and Hermione recognised this. "Thank you" she said but not before sending Harry a flirtatious smile and pushing her hair away from her face. "Ew" I gagged once I saw the look on Harry's face after cho's appearance "Why do you dislike Cho chang?" Hermione asked "She always flirts with Cedric even though she knows he's not available and she argued with Grayson constantly last year, so much that he was debating failing the class just to escape her talk" I laughed recalling the memory The train had came to a slow stop and I got up ready to leave. "I hope I'll see you around" I announced before leaving the trio. "She is so attractive-" Ron began but Hermione and Harry scrunched their faces at his choice of words "Off limits man, you know what Cedric is like and I suggest you don't ever say that again, at least not out loud" Harry said before leaving the seats followed by Hermione. —————————————————— I waited outside as there was a big crowd of people and Grayson said something important is happening. I was freezing and I shuddered as I thought about how cold it was. "Wouldn't want my girlfriend getting cold would we?" I turned to see Cedric. His cheeks a rosy red colour from the weather. He passed over his scarf and I smiled and kissed his cheek. "Thanks Ced" he blew a kiss before going back to his group of Hufflepuff friends.
Four flying horses fly through the air pulling a carriage, coming in to land at Hogwarts. The crowds cheer as they hooves of the animals hit the ground. After a several minutes a large ship emerges from under the water and approaches towards the school. I was freezing and didn't really know what was going on nor did I care that much. I followed a few Slytherin students into the great hall where a few people were scattered. Once everyone returned to the hall, Dumbledore stood up to make an announcement. "Now we're all settled in and sorted, I'd like to make an announcement. This castle will not only be your home this year but home to some very special guests as well. You see Hogwarts has been choosen.." A man runs up the aisle limping in a comical way, he whispers something to Dumbledore and leaves in the same fashion. "So Hogwarts has been choosen to host a legendary event. The Tri-Wizard tournament. Now for those of you who do not know,the tri-wizard tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contests. From each school a single contestant is selected to compete. Now let me be clear, if choosen you stand alone. And trust me when I say these contests are not for the faint hearted, but more of that later. For now please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of magic and their headmistress Madam Maxime" A group of girls dressed in blue dance up the aisle and release butterflies into the air. They bow and everyone applauds. I recognise one of them from when I was younger. I smiled at her and moved my head to indicate i wanted her to sit next to me and she nodded
"Who's that and how do you know her?" Chris asked his gaze set on me "That's grace reeves my cousin don't you remember?" "Oh my god that is! She died her hair hasn't she?" "I think so" I cocked my head to the side. They all took a seat and grace quickly ran and I moved up so she could sit next to me. "And now our friends from the north, please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang and the high master Igor Karkaroff" A series of older boys walk up the aisle brandishing bo staffs, twirling them around and periodically stabbing them into the ground with a spark effect. I spotted Viktor Krum and he smiled and waved at me. I waved back but less enthusiastically. Wow this was going to be a interesting year... ——————————————————— "Your attention please! I would like to say a few words. Eternal glory, that is what awaits the student who wins the tri-wizard tournament. But to do this that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks. For this reason the ministry has seen fit to impose a new rule. To explain all this we have the head of the department of international magic cooperation Mister Bartimus Crouch" after his grand entrance everyone quieted down again when he started to speak "After much deliberation the ministry has concluded that for their own safety no student under the age of seventeen shall be allowed to put forth their name for the tri-wizard tournament. This decision is final" there was groans heard all over the hall but I wasn't bothered at all. There was no way in hell I was entering a competition this dangerous and stupid. Dumbledore casts magic over a box which melds into a goblet containing a blue flame.
"The goblet of fire. Anyone wishing to submit themselves for the tournament merely write their name upon a piece of parchment and throw it in the flame before this hour on Thursday night. Do not do so lightly, if choosen there's no turning back. As from this moment the tri-wizard tournament has begun" —————————————————— "I haven't sawn you in ages how are you?" I ask grace. She looked the same when I last saw her which was a year ago but this time her hair was much darker. "I'm great. Anyways I've been told that you have a boyfriend! You're father told my father who told me and now I have got to meet him! Where's this lucky boy?" She said looking frantically around. "He is over there, wait here and I'll go get him" I said pushing her down onto the seat she had jumped up from. She nodded excited and I left her to go get Cedric. Once I found him with his freinds I waved him over to me and he came jogging over. "My cousin wants to meet you and she may be a big full on so be prepared" I said giving him a head up. He nodded and once he came into view of grace she smiled widely. "Well well well if it isn't Cedric Diggory. I was planning on asking you multiple questions to see if you treat her right but by the sounds of what Grayson and Chris say you are amazing. So luckily for you we can skip that part" he chuckled "Um Cedric this is my cousin grace reeves" I said introducing him and he gave her a polite nod. "Excuse me can I steal Athena quickly?" Viktor krum said in his thick accent. Cedric was hesitant but he wasn't going to let her leave without giving him some idea that she was taken. she turned around to say goodbye to them but Cedric smashes his lips against hers in a short but sweet kiss. "Have fun darling" he said using a nickname. I started walking off with krum and I stuck my tongue out at Cedric and my cousin until I finally looked the way I was walking. Many students saw me with viktor krum and I knew this was not good news as gossip round here spreads like wild fire. "I'm sorry I completely forgot to send you a letter about coming here but I saw you in the ministers box at the match, I attempted to wave but you might recall that didn't go so well" he laughed and I did too as I recalled when he attempted the greeting but nearly fell off his broom as he was so distracted. "I do vaguely remember that" I said nodding slowly a grin forming on my lips "I'm going to put my name in the goblet of fire" he said randomly "What- why?" "It's What my family would want me to do. What my fans would want me to do" he sighed but I could tell he wasn't at all excited for this. "Well even though I don't agree with the competition or anything about it. I know you'll do well and good luck. It's going to be hard work and I hope you will come out of the tasks unscathed" I smiled and he did too "Thank you Athena, means a lot"
