The sound shook Cameron worse than fingernails on chalkboards, which was the sound he dreaded the most in the whole world. It was the sound of someone screaming right before getting murdered by a man who had snuck into their house one night with a knife hidden in his shirt sleeve. The person who was screaming was Cameron's mom. In an instant, Cameron found himself joining in the screaming, and in another instant, he was screaming by himself. And in yet another instant, all was silent, except for a man chuckling softly for himself.
