CAMERONS POV

you grab your board and airpods. you throw on a hoodie and some black leggings and white slip on vans. you put up your hood and skate with "Magnolia" by playboi carti playing on your airpods.

you skate to the park and see a dunkin near by so you skate to dunkin and & get an iced coffee. you go to skate to the pond and find a near bye bench. u set down your phone and your coffee on the bench and start doing ollies over random things and practicing your flip kicks. then you are interrupted when you feel something hit your back. it was light so you brush it off thinking it was a leaf or sum. then again and again and again. you had it so you turn around and there stands the 5'4 boy with small rocks/ pebbles in his hand.

Cameron: tf
Kairi: hi
Cameron: i told you to not pull anything
Kairi: im bored
Cameron: so we stalk when we bored now?
Kairi: u were stalking me first
Cameron: i liked a photo. you followed me here
Kairi: eh whatever. nice ollie
Cameron: thanks. do u know how to skate?
Kairi: i only know how to cruise. i don't know tricks.

[you hand him your board and he holds it in his hand not knowing what to do]

Kairi: tf am i supposed to do with this
Cameron: do a trick
Kairi: i just said i don't know how to
Cameron: try

Cameron: ollie. do u know the steps?
Kairi: yes but i have never tried it.

[he puts the board down and prepares to try. he exhales and bends his knees. he jumps while sliding his foot up the board. it seemed like a success at first until he landed and his foot went off the board and caused him to fall. he laid there on the cold concrete on his back with his eyes closed]

Cameron: HAHAHA YOU SUCK
kairi: yeah yeah i told you. help me up.

[he holds out his hand for you to grab but u stand there with your arms crossed. he looks at you in a serious face waiting]

Cameron: get up yourself
kairi: asshole
Cameron: im the CEO of asshole bro. get used to it.

[he gets up and dusts himself off. he stands there as you pick up the board and lay it back down properly with your foot. you get on it and skate a few feet and land a perfect ollie and kairi stands there in awe]

kairi: how
Cameron: practice
kairi: how long have u been skating
Cameron: like 8?
kairi: woah

[u stand there examining his face]

Kairi: what, do i have something on my face

[he runs his face checking if he had anything on his face]

Cameron: im trying to find what about you made me stay. usually i would skate off and yell "fuck you". i don't even know why i didn't leave you in read the second you texted me.
Kairi: good
Cameron: no it's a bad thing
Kairi: why
Cameron: certain reasons. you just seem... different compared other people. oddly in a good way.
Kairi: thanks
Cameron: mhm, enjoy it. you ain't ever gonna catch me complimenting people.

[you skate towards his and tail drag your board. you sit on the bench sipping on your coffee. he comes and sits next to you. you go in your phone and he stares at the pond]

Kairi: can i ask you a question?
Cameron: you already did, but one more won't hurt.
Kairi: why dont you like showing emotion? like, since i met you, you haven't shown a bit of emotion.
Cameron: we met yesterday.
Kairi: still
Cameron: it's how i am. love it or hate it. i stopped showing emotion and giving shits when i was 11.
Kairi: what happened when u were 11?

[you sit up and shift your body unsettled. you ignore his question]

Cameron: where are your friends?
Kairi: ale went hiking with his family, robert is with roshaun and alvaro playing videos games at alvaros house but we play games all the time so i didn't wanna go. and mattia is probably fucking some girl right now.
Cameron: pathetic
Kairi: what is
Cameron: polibio, he fucks girls and leaves them there like an idiot. can't blame just him tho. the hoes take the blame too.
Kairi: yeah i guess. they get clingy too. they worship him like a god.
Cameron: i noticed. i'm guessing alejandro does the same?
Kairi: yup

Kairi: what about you? do you have a boyfriend?

[as you were sipping your coffee, you laughed causing you to choke on it. you swallow it and keep on laughing. you settle down and look kairi dead in the eye. he looked confused]

Cameron: aw, kairi. i don't do boyfriends. men ain't shit. they are a distraction. i can't afford a distraction. and that what i feel like guys are.
Kairi: woah
Cameron: what
Kairi: harsh
Cameron: Sorry cosentino. it's true. GUYS AINT SHIT.

[you laugh and stare at the pond. you smile while playing with your straw]

Kairi: you are scaring me.
Cameron: oh really? well, ITS TRUE. MEN AINT SHIT. THEY ARE JUST A DAMN DEAD WEIGHT

[your smile fades and you look down at your coffee with a serious face.]

kairi: what guy broke your heart?

[you look up at his and laugh. you start laughing uncontrollably and it fades into a cry. kairi sat there not knowing what to do. you burry your face into your hands and you feel a pair of arms wrap around your body. you stand up straight and shove him off you. you look at him with tears going down your face and your eyes wide open. he looked startled. you realized, you weren't used to it. you relax your body and look at him. he didn't know what to say. you got closer to him and play with your fingers]

Cameron: im sorry. i'm not used to... hugs.

[kairis heart sank and he got closer to you. he rested his hand on your arms and you turned to him. he slowly hugged you and you hugged back crying into his shoulder. he hugged you so tight and you felt like you weren't alone for once in your life. like you were gonna get through it]

Kairi: you may not like me or my friends, or think im annoying.. but im always gonna be here for you. no matter what. even tho we met like yesterday.
Cameron: thanks cosentino.
