Chapter 24 - Saving Her

Today we are taking down Andrea Bianchi. Alessandra knows we are coming so she's ready to help us as soon as we get there. The plan is engraved in all our minds and Leonardo is ready to go. I've got my cousins on my team and then Emilio is leading a team with Stefano and Martina and a few footmen who I can trust to do a good job.

Stefano has been ignoring all of us apart from Martina and Giovanni but he still agreed to help. He's been struggling to accept Enzo but thankfully there have been no fights. Enzo went to see his boyfriend again yesterday but that means he's got new injuries which I'm worried will get in the way today.

"Are you sure you can do this?" I ask when Enzo winces as he sits next to me in the back of the van.

"I am fine. It does not hurt much," he says and I sigh.

"You should have stayed at home with Giovanni."

"He's fine Vinny! If you can take it up the ass so can he," Luca teases.

"First off, do not call me Vinny," I say angrily.

"Oh I am sorry, only your boyfriend can call you that."

"That's right. And Enzo is clearly in pain, Damian doesn't hurt me that much," I say and Enzo rolls his eyes.

"Sto bene! Stop worrying about me," Lorenzo shouts. Matteo looks wary of us making him angry but it's fine, if he's angry he'll be better on the mission.

"We're nearly there, now focus," I say and they all get ready to do this.

The van stops and we get out of the back and I turn on my earpiece that links with Leonardo and Emilio.

"We are ready to go," I say and I hear Emilio and Leo come online.

"Us too," Emilio says quietly. His team are at the front so they have to be the most careful.

"We're ready," Leo says and I nod to my team.

We go through the back garden with all of our guns up and silencers on. They are less about not alerting anyone and more about saving our ears during a shootout.

"Stay behind me," I say quietly as we get to the large pool where a woman and a man are laying on deck chairs. I don't recognise them but I do see the guns on the table between them. Me and Matteo raise our guns and kneel down so we stay steady.

"I go left," I whisper as I aim for the man's head. Our bullets fire almost at the same time and both people are dead. I stand back up silently and turn to go through the back door.

I hear faint gunshots a few rooms over and then see a group of armed men run down the stairs. Our guns go off first, small machine guns that easily tear through the group of people before they even know we were there. We move through the other rooms towards the gunfire I can hear from either Leo or Emilio's teams.

"I'm hit! Front room we need help!" Emilio says through my ear piece. We quickly move and I go through the large archway where Emilio's team is behind furniture with Andrea Bianchi and some other people shooting at them.
