1. Required bang magkaroon ng Prologue ang story?

Walang standard word count ang prologue, pero recommended na maikli ito lalo na kung expected mong maikli rin ang attention span ng readers mo.

3. Ano ang prologue at ano ang pinagkaiba nito sa chapter 1?

Dahil dito kadalasan nalilito ang karamihan, anything na hindi kasama sa daloy ng kwento ay dapat tawaging prologue. Kung yung prologue mo naman ay mga eksena na direktang susundan ng susunod na kabanata, it should be chapter 1. Again, hindi required ang prologo sa kwento at huwag ka na lang maglagay ng prologue kung 'di ka sigurado sa ginagawa mo.

Prologue is not synopsis, description and neither a blurb. Parte ng story ang prologue, pero ang description, synopsis at blurb ay mga incomplete summary ng kuwento.

5. Ano ba ang prologue at kailan required na may prologo ang story ko?

Prologue is the introductory text of a novel's narrative. Iba pa ito sa introduction. Introduction usually precedes a prologue pero sa introduction, walang narration. Prologue must be interesting and should set up the reader's interest for the entire story.

—0. Kung amateur o unknown writer ka, at nagbabalak kang magsulat ng novel (series) na may rich worldbuilding, the prologue is your key to entice your readers. Kung sikat ka naman at marami nang readers, kahit huwag ka nang mag-prologue at dumeretso ka na sa chapter 1. Prologue is the equivalent of salestalk in writing.

—1. Backstory prologue. Usually a short narration ng mga events na nangyari sa distant past ng main narrative. Again, kung magsusulat ng prologue, don't make it boring. Give a backstory that would tickle the interest of readers. And make sure na relevant ito. Halimbawa na lang kung first-person narrative ang buong kuwento, you can use third-person narrative prologue para maglahad ng info na hindi alam ng POV narrator. So unless you make the prologue intriguing enough, there's a big risk that starting your story in medias res will only confuse the reader.

One of the exceptions kung kailan pwede kang magsulat ng prologue na seamless sa flow ng main narrative is when there are actualy two or more timelines/realities sa story. Common ito sa mga science fiction at fantasy stories na may kinalaman sa time travel and multiverse. Pero marami ring ganito sa mga literary fiction na nagta-tackle sa "what if" stories.
