"Mia!" Both Nicole and Chloe yelled her name with a wide grin, seeing Mia's face appear on the laptop.

"My babies," Mia greeted the both of them, a wide and cheerful smile on her face as she waved at both her best friends through the screen.

It had been just over a week since the wedding and since Mia and Sebastian had left for their honeymoon. In that time, she hadn't had any contact with the girls, however she missed them dearly, hence the call.

"How's the honeymoon?" Chloe asked, despite the fact that she could tell that it was good already since Mia couldn't stop grinning.

"It's so amazing," Mia gushed, clapping her hands together. "The weather is absolute bliss. We have our own private beach hut and I went snorkelling," she told the girls.

Nicole and Chloe, both couldn't help but smile at Mia, that enthusiasm of her seeming so contagious. They noticed how she was glowing - and not just because of the tan.

"You look so happy," Chloe commented.

Even Nicole was quite in awe of how happy and radiant Mia looked, it was weird. It also tugged at something within her chest, that no matter how great she thought her life was, her friends, family, job, Milan, she still didn't have this level of happiness.

Mia nodded at Chloe's comment.

"I really am. Sebastian has literally planned every single thing, down to the smallest details and it's all so romantic," she said grinning widely. "How are you guys?"

Chloe smiled back. "I'm good," she replied.

"I think I'm still trying to recover from your wedding," Nicole groaned.

Despite the fact that it had been over a week, Nicole still felt like she hadn't recovered completely from all the drinking that she had done. Her liver was still getting there and still begging her to be alcohol-free for a little bit more.

"Speaking of that, where the hell did you go? And how did you end up with Blake?" Mia asked, leaning forward, towards the laptop.

Nicole winced. "I may have gotten slightly more drunk than intended," she said rather sheepishly.

"Slightly?" Mia raised a brow.

"Okay, I was wrecked," Nicole confessed. "It was on the level of that Omega Frat Party night at university."

Mia let out a snort. "Oh yeah. That was bad."

"I had to give you a piggybank," Chloe stated, remembering the night too.

That night at university, Nicole had been completely shit-faced. Drunker than she'd ever been before, which may have been the intention, but that was university and it was basically expected of you to have a good night.

However, Mia's wedding was not the same case.

After Nicole had come back home, she couldn't help but think how stupid it was of her to do something like that. Be tipsy? Yes. But completely out of it? To the point she couldn't remember the night? Nope. That shouldn't happen. It wasn't meant to.

Getting drunk with your mates, that was fine, but not like that. On one of her best friends' wedding day? That was so out of order, Nicole felt ashamed.

She was really glad that Mia clearly didn't hold it against her, neither did Chloe, because they were so great, but she still felt bad about it all.

"Blake said that I bumped into him and then he helped me out, so I didn't embarrass myself or make a scene," Nicole said. "Thankfully, Blake was there," she breathed out in relief.
