Chapter 7 : Harem Drama

There are some common things that can always happen in any ancient drama. Such as
war, conflict between brothers, getting switched at birth, making someone ware green hat, killing whole family to typical revenge plot and the most important, popular and unreasonable one-

Su Ying entered the pavilion, greeted everyone, introduced himself and took his seat elegantly. Just like a King... Um 'Queen'? The other three introduced themselves one by one according to their status.

Yao Mingli, son of the Minister of guards.  A pretty-faced feminine ger with an arrogant attitude and bad temper.

Lai Ruolan, daughter of the Minister of Agriculture. A pretty and strong woman with calm temperament outside but very scheming inside.

Cai Yingtai, daughter of a fairly wealthy businessman. A gentle beauty whose temperament is also seemed to be gentle and kind.

Among them, Yao Mingli's family holds the highest status. He was even supposed to become an official wife but Yusheng refused. It was also said that rather than being a part of the scheme, Yao Mingli is more obsessed with Yusheng and determined to get his favor. But he was repeatedly rejected by him. Yusheng didn't even look at him. So Yao Mingli is very hostile towards Su Ying. But coming from a respected family, he barely knew how to hide that well.

Actually... Among all of them... Su Ying has the lowest status if judged by their family and reputation. Even though his family status is higher than Cai Yingtai, his reputation is not higher than her since little 'Su Ying' never got the chance to step a foot out of the Su threshold. But in terms of look, none of them could defeat his mysterious heavenly beauty.

Su Ying took the initiative to start their 'friendly' tea party. Lai Ruolan spoke,

"You're really beautiful, 'sister'."

Meh...so his gender changed???

"Thanks for the compliment, 'sister'. Maybe that's one of the reason I was able to get husband's attention?"

There... Su Ying fired the first bullet.

Lai Ruolan's calm face twitched slightly. Wasn't that implying that she didn't look good enough to attract Yusheng's attention? Basically saying she's ugly? (he didn't say that)

Lai Ruolan tried to smile, "I heard people saying that my Lord stayed with you last night."

Su Ying said smilingly, "Yes. Husband stayed with me last night. He promised to visit me today too. (suddenly 'worried') I heard husband never went to sisters chamber. Are you all okey with that?"

Bang!

Second bullet fired.

Lai Ruolan's expression cracked and she gritted her teeth. What was Su Ying trying to say? That they weren't favored? Yusheng didn't put them in his eyes?

"Oh... You're trying to say something actually happened between you and my Lord?" Yao Mingli said with a hint of hostility.

Su Ying pretended to be both grieved and shy,
"Why would I lie ah? Husband... He was so strong last night... I can even barely stand... My whole body aches. Even though husband told me to rest today, I wanted to come and complete the rituals to keep his honour ah... He even asked me to...(giggle happily)."

Bang!

Third bullet fired.

Yao Mingli was trembling in anger. The maids around them started to murmur among themselves...indicating that the information would become a breaking news in the whole capital by next morning.

Yao Mingli sneered, "It's just momentary. He'll soon forget you."

Su Ying said as if he was confused, "That's weird. Husband promised me so many things... Even with the stake of his life. I wanted to cook for him. But he told me to never do anything dangerous and just rest. He said that my hands are precious. What if I cut or burn my hand while cooking?

Ahh... 'Sister' Yao... I heard you cook delicacies for husband sometimes... But sadly... Only the dogs outside the estate get to eat them. Can you teach me how you cook those dishes?"

Bang!

Su Ying fired the final bullet.

Yao Mingli was angry enough to kill Su Ying.
"Su Ying! I dare you to say that!!!"

"'Sister' Yao, what did I do?" It was really difficult for Su Ying to shed tears. But all credits to the secret weapon... Onion...

Thankfully... Cai Yingtai calmed the situation down. The tea party ended quite 'peacefully' with any bloodshed.

When Li Yusheng learnt what happened from the embarrassed guard, his thoughts were,

"Very well. Just like him. This wife of his should should consider changing his occupation."
