Chapter 35

Melissa's P.O.V:

I swear I look so pathetic now. I had run in panic when I realized I had found my second chance mate and I didn't want to face the same pain I had went through with Marcus. I ran and ran till my eyes clouded and fell in this clearing tears pathetically falling from my eyes. I shifted and bought my knees to my chest and laid my head on them. I could feel I was wearing my silver dress and thanked goddess that I wasn't naked like the other weres. The tears automatically stopped as the sun went down and the moon light flooded the clearing. I was so lost in thought that I didn't feel someone behind me till I heard the little branch snap under their feet. I changed my eyes to blue as before so if it was my new mate the fae he didn't know I was the queen. I knew he was the fae ambassador but I would avoid him till I could or at least until I know for sure he wasn't like Marcus with a double agenda with the queen.

I soon smelt his mouth watering scent as he stood behind me. i was surprised to find all about him. he was the fae prince next in line after his father. I was shocked to know he was also half wolf. They were really rare. As I told with Danny when two different species mate either one is dominant or an entire different species is born like Danny was a shifter. The fae was supposed to be either a fae, wolf or an elemental. I had to stay indifferent I had to be prepared for him to reject me but I could help the pain I felt in my chest at the thought. When he was close enough I spoke, surprised my voice wasn't scratchy or weird.

"you can go ahead and reject me while we are alone here. No need to make a scene in front of the others."

I could hear it when I felt his breath hitch. I felt my own eyes widen when he turned me around quite harshly I might say. I looked down at the floor suddenly feeling very week. It felt like all of my strength was gone and all that was left behind was a shell an empty one at that. He put his finger under my chin and made me look up. I gazed into his dark green eyes with a hint of gold, his golden blonde hair were long had a messy bed look to them. his perfect features made me want to run my hands through his hair and trace his face with my fingers. I snapped out of my train of thoughts when he used his left pointer finger to wipe away a lone tear that fell without me knowing. He looked in my eyes with sadness and I braced myself for the rejection.

"who hurt you so bad you don't want to even think you are worth any happiness?"

I was shocked at when instead of declining his words I opened my mouth and told him

"my first mate."

I felt his hands tighten around my jaw and I knew for certain that he would reject me. I closed my eyes but opened them when I felt him slam me into a tree a few feet away.

"you are MINE! I will kill anybody that thinks they can take you away from me."

I was surprised at his possessive voice. I felt both his fae and wolf sides coming closer. His eyes that were blazing in anger softened.

"I don't care what happened to you before. I don't care some dumb stupid asshole didn't love you for who you are but I am extremely thankful that he left you for me. At least I get to have my mate!."

"what?"

"what I am saying MATE is that you are only mine. I will never reject you. I waited my whole life for you. I would be crazy if I let go such a beautiful mate for anybody or anything else."

I looked at him with disbelief in my eyes.

"you don't believe me do you?"

I shook my head and he sighed and bought his face near my neck. By instinct I bared my neck more and felt him place butterfly kisses on my neck till he finally reached the spot he would mark me. If I let him that is. I felt my body shake in panic. I tried to push him away.

"stop what are you doing?"

"staking claim on what is rightfully MINE"

He growled in his deep voice. I felt a shiver go through me. He smirked knowing the effect he had on me. He bought his mouth close to my neck.

"tell me Love do you want me to?"

"no stop please. It's too early!"

He smirked against my neck and kissed the spot once before moving back.

"see love? See the effect I have on you. Just remember, now that I have found you. Someone will have to snatch you out of my cold dead body before I let you go."

I nodded and he had a satisfied smile on his face. He nodded and kissed my forehead before taking off in the air and hovering a few feet away.

"take your time love. I will see you tomorrow in the same gym you escaped me from. I am just giving you tonight. After that I expect you to know I am here to love you not hurt you. I will lay down my life for yours. Remember that my love."

With a smile he flew away humming some weird tune out of rhythm. I touched the place where he kissed me and winced at the pain. I teleported to my room and looked in the mirror and saw he left a hickey where he was supposed to mark me. No matter how hard I tried to be angry, a smile broke out onto my lips and my cheeks took a rosy color they never did before. I fell on my bed once more smiling for the first time in a few weeks and slept the best sleep I could ever have.
