First Year - 01

*alarm goes off*

"ugh," I said as I stop the alarm on my phone.

"Time to wake up!" my mother said barging into my room. "I made pancakes for you and your brother downstairs because it's the beginning of a new school year."

"Mmm," I mumbled as I put the pillow over my head.

Suddenly the blanket and pillow were taken away by my mother.

"Hey! Give it back!" I said grouchily.

"No Kemi! We go through this every year!" My mom said in an angry tone.

"Fine," I said getting up. "I will get ready and be downstairs in a minute. Okay, mother?" I said pushing her out my room.

"Yes now hurry its 7:00," she responded back and headed downstairs.

I then went into my closet and picked out my school uniform. I hate wearing this, I said in my head. I then headed into my bathroom in my room. I changed my clothes, washed my face, brush my teeth, did light makeup, and brushed my hair. I exited my room after I grabbed my school bag and headed downstairs.

"Mom can we not eat breakfast. Why did you make it?" My brother asked.

"Cause it's the first day for your sister as a high schooler and it's your first day at college," She smiled as she handed him a plate.

"Don't be rude to mom, at least she made us something," I said walking into kitchen. I then pack my breakfast to go.

"You don't even eat breakfast bruh," my brother said.

"Well today I am," I said as I went towards my mom to kiss her cheek to indicate I'm leaving. "Sorry for being a grouch today! I am going now to meet Mai and Jungwon at the bus stop!" I yelled as I was exiting the house.

I then headed towards Mai and Jungwon. I think Mai is already there, but I'm not too sure. Maybe I should text her, I thought. I took out my phone in my pocket and started texting her.

Me:

are you there already?

HUH? I am almost there!!

oops sorry, I woke up late. I leave the house now.

why don't you text wonnie to see if he's there?

Me:

 I should have texted Jungwon from the beginning. Usually, Mai is there first, since Jungwon wakes up later than us, but today Mai and I left kind of late, so maybe he is there? I then proceeded to text him.

Me:

are ya at the bus stop?

almost there. actually here.

I looked up to see him. He waved with his cute smile. I always had a long time crush on Jungwon. Even though he is my best friend, I still fell for him. Mai doesn't know and of course he didn't. I just kept it to myself and admired him from a distance because I knew it would never happen.
