Chapter 24: My Secret, Our Secret

Em and I didn't really talk for six days. Which is a record, you know. During those days she showed mixed emotions of sadness, confusion, annoyance and basically everything. And that sucked because one, I didn't mean to or expect her to be this upset and two, the last week of school was about to end awkwardly.

'We can't really blame her, though.' Thomas said to me on Friday after school where my eyes were still well and truly puffy from crying so much. 'I mean, you two've spent half of your lives together and you just told her that you're leaving soon without warning.'

'Yeah I do feel bad for that...' I said, looking towards Em, who was talking with Matt. Or should I say, Matt was saying something to her.  'But... I didn't know how to say it, you know.'

'I can see. Well, I think it'll be good if you two started talking again by tomorrow. None of the fans would want to see you two not being idiots together.'

I nodded before I said, 'Hey, we aren't idiots all the time.'

'You kind of admitted that you can be.'

'I can't deny that, can I?' I smiled.

'No you can't.' He laughed.

Then a group of people from the younger years came up to us. 'Um, excuse me? Can we have your autographs please? And also a photo, maybe? Since it's your last day here...'

Thomas and I glanced at each other with a small smile and replied, 'We'll love to.'

As soon as we finished signing autographs for them, I heard someone shouting my name.

'Sakuraaaaaa!!' Kat, Dessy and Tarlee was running up to us.

'Giiiiiirls!!' I ran up to them and we all crushed into a tight group hug.

'I'm gonna miss you so much!' Kat said, starting to cry.

'Stop, I just stopped crying!' I whined.

'Oh and you don't say you'll miss us!' Tarlee said.

'Of course I would!'

'Good!'

'Group huuuugg!!' Ian literally jumped and joined, followed by Thomas, Kosuke, Keita and Akihiro. Hana and Kanae came too.

'Is Emma still not happy?' Keita asked when we all decided to part because it was getting hot.

'No...' I said quietly.

'Look who's coming!'

We all looked where Ian was looking: Matt and Em were coming over.

Matt got to us first and Em walked past him, straight to me.

'I'm sorry about the past week...' Em said quietly. 'I was being stubborn and selfish and... I just didn't want to accept that fact that you're going to leave soon... I'm so sorry...'

'Em...' I said and brought her to a hug. 'I'm so sorry too... It was sudden, wasn't it?'

'Y-Yeah. It was.' Em laughed weakly.
