Fluff

You stood in front of Shino's. The orange sun beat down onto your (s/c) skin as the cold evening's air blew through your hair. The last place you were at had closed down because they filed for bankruptcy. The food there was amazing, but it was the complaints of the sloppy service the place always had. Since it was mostly a family-run restaurant, none of the family members of the owners would get fired. You were the only one who wasn't related to them. They kept you around because you were good at what you did and kept the business going. It had been a few weeks since that happened and you were excited and determined to do the best you could and more.

Gripping your work bag in one hand and placing your free hand in your pocket, you walked through the glass doors.

You loved to cook. Some may consider you one of the best, well-rounded chefs in the industry. The owner, Chef Kojirou Shino, hadn't officially hired you yet. Today was the day you had proved yourself to him. You didn't have any knowledge of this of course. He wanted to see what you could do without knowing whether or not you would keep or lose this job in a day.

You walked through the dining area and into the kitchen to find where all the workers were. Once you opened the doors, all eyes were on you as the other cooks were standing around Chef Kojirou.

"Oi, hurry up! You're late! We're about to open." Kojiro commanded you.

You looked at the time which made you confused. You were actually 30 minutes earlier than when you were supposed to be there. Instead of arguing with him, you walked into the back room and put away your stuff and putting on your chef's uniform.

After about an hour and a half, Shino's finally opened. Right off the bat, a bunch of orders started coming in. You moved with incredible speed and precision. The other chefs couldn't help but be caught off guard by your immense focus. Even Kojirou couldn't help but be impressed. He had to test you though, push you through your limits to see if you were worth the pay.

"Y/n, get the dishes out faster! What are you? An idiot? Hurry up!" He yelled.

"Yes, chef!" You replied as you sped up your movements while staying careful and precise.

You learned it was best to stay calm in the kitchen and to not let anything but cooking stay on your mind to prevent any screw-ups. The family at the restaurant you worked at taught you that as you observed their struggles and misfortunes as they continuously argued and yelled at each other while cooking. Their dishes would turn out horrible or they would take to long to serve them which meant you had to be the one who remade them.

Kojirou continued to yell at you throughout the night, expecting you to fold under the pressure. You stayed calm and did as you were told, your focus stays on your tasks. You did find his excessive yelling and orders a bit stressful, but you had no choice but to push it aside and continue to do what you had to. You wanted almost nothing but this job. All the restaurants you worked at were pretty bad whether it be with the staff or the restaurant itself. If all you had to deal with was a hot and angry boss, then you'd do it without complaint.

After that day had ended, everyone complimented and questioned you about your skills as a chef. Everyone except Kojirou who just listened in the background. He smirked to himself as he heard you talk about your past jobs and how horrible they were. You tried to whisper what you thought about Kojirou so he wouldn't hear, but you failed to do so.

"I mean, he's cute but he yells a lot. And it seems that he's mostly targetting me!" You whispered which caused the group to chuckle and laugh.

Kojirou smiled and pretended not to hear as he continued to finish up paperwork.
