I'm having writers block with the chapters i planned so i offer you this angst instead.

"Kenma, can we go to sleep now?" Hinata asked the other, his eyes drooping.
"Yeah Shou." His voice was strained as he turned off the switch and put it on the bedside table. He was terrified every time they went asleep. Terrified that Hinata wouldn't be there when he woke up.

They both turned on their side so they could face each other and Kenma held Hinata's hands with one of his own and the other around the back of Hinata's head. His orange locks were a lot thinner now with many bald spots. Hinata hated it and often wore a beanie but Kenma still thought he was the most beautiful ray of sunshine.
"Kenma? You're crying." Hinata pointed out drowsily. Kenma hadn't even realised the tears falling fast down his cheeks.
"Sorry Shouyou."
"it's fine. I'm fine. I'm right here." He smiled at Kenma, it was weak and didn't show all his teeth and scrunch up his eyes anymore. But it was still that brightest to Kenma.

Kenma played with his hair until Hinata fell asleep. But he himself couldn't sleep. He just held his boyfrie- fiance, close to his chest. Hinata had proposed six months before. They had gone to this cat cafe that had just opened and Hinata had a cat bring him the ring before he got down on one knee and proposed. To some, it may not have been the most romantic place to do so, but to Kenma, it was the most perfect. And the rest of the day was perfect too...until Hinata suddenly collapsed as they were walking home.

When he was brought to the hospital they did many tests. Many scans. They wouldn't tell Kenma anything and he was having a panic attack. That night he called Kuroo who rushed to the hospital. It wasn't until the next morning they were told the results.

Brain cancer. Stage 4. Terminal.

Kenma cried. He sobbed. Hinata just smiled and told him it would be okay. Kuroo made sure Hinata got the best treatment out there. Many people visited him, he had a lot of friends. Everything had been going as well as it could. He was still able to live a pretty normal. But the last month hadn't been so good and he wasn't allowed to leave the hospital as they had to constantly monitor him.

Hinata was cold. Very cold. Too cold. His freezing body has woken Kenma up. Kenma had wrapped the blanket around Hinata more, hoping it would help. His chest wasn't slowly rising up and down. There was no slight whistle escaping Hinata's mouth as he breathed.
"Shouyou?" The fake blonde asked, his eyes wide, heart racing. He reached forward and gently shook the other and there was no response.
"Shouyou?!" He was becoming frantic now and he finally heard something. The long beep from the monitor. A flat line on the screen. He had no heartbeat.
"Shouyou! Wake up!" Kenma never yelled, but right now he was screaming for his love.

A nurse rushed in and a look of pity overcame her face.
"Do something!" he yelled.
"I'm sorry dear. There's nothing we can do."
"No. You...you have to do something." He felt his heart clench, his throat close up and heavy tears running down his cheeks. He looked down at Hinata, his skin pale, his vibrant hair was dull.
"Shou...Come back to me."
"Your friend is outside, would you like him to come in?"
"Whatever."
He didn't look up and just held Hinata close to him as sobs racked his body.
"Kenma?" At first Kenma thought it was Hinata, but he knew deep down it wasn't. Kuroo put a comforting hand on Kenma's shoulder.
"He's gone Kuroo. Shouyou's gone!" He wanted to scream. He wanted to die. He wanted Hinata back.
"This shouldn't have fucking happened. They told us he would live at least another six months." Kuroo was furious more than anything right now. He was angry at the doctors for not doing their job.

"I'm sorry to interrupt. But Mr Hinata's body needs to be taken to the morgue now." The doctor who had been in charge of Hinata said.
"Not even a little longer?" Kenma choked out. He hadn't let go of Hinata yet.
"No I'm sorry for your lost."
"Listen fucking here doc. My best friend's love of his life just died in his arms. You said he would be fine for the rest of the year. Why is he dead?" Kuroo questioned harshly.
"It's terminal cancer Mr Kuroo. Unfortunately things like these happen. Sometimes people pass away before we expect."

Kenma pressed a kiss to Hinata's cold forehead.
"I can't wait until we are together again." he whispered.
Slowly, he got out of the hospital bed. Kuroo wrapped an arm around Kenma's shoulders and held him close. Kenma sobbed into Kuroo's chest. Kuroo led them out of the room, and to the small garden outside the hospital.
"He's gone."
"I know."
"I didn't tell him I loved him last night Kuroo. I didn't tell him. Why didn't I tell him?" He cried harder.
"You didn't need to. You don't need to say it everyday and every night. Trust me Kenma. He knew. He knew you loved him."
"I never got to marry him. We were supposed to get married. We supposed to be together and live old with a bunch of cats. It wasn't supposed to be like this."
"I know." Kuroo couldn't say that everything was going to be okay because he didn't know that.
"I'm sure the hospital would have already called his family. Do you want me to let his friends know?" Kuroo asked.
"Yeah. They deserve to know. Oh God. It fucking hurts Kuroo. It hurts so bad. I miss him so bad!"
"So do I. Let's get you home. Would you like to stay at my place tonight? I'm sure Kei won't mind."
"Yes please."

Kuroo held Kenma all night. Tsukishima even shed a few tears at the news. Sure, Hinata wasn't his favorite person but he was still a close friend. The next morning Kuroo called everyone. Each time it was harder and harder to say it without breaking down. I mean who wouldn't.

The world just lost it's sunshine.

Okay so, I always get sad when i write angst chapters but this is the first one that i actually sobbed as I wrote it. I had to wipe my keyboard a few time because of my tears. Ugh, why do I do this to myself. And the sad AF music playing the whole time wasn't helping.
