Levi's POV
We've been here almost eleven months now. Teddy hasn't left her room much, she doesn't even acknowledge my presence anymore. When Teddy does leave her room she goes out straight away and when she comes back she goes straight back into her room. It's frustrating, it's like we've drifted apart, even though twins are meant to be really close.
I've given up trying to talk to her now, when I try she just stares straight through me like I'm not even there. I'm sitting on the couch, trying to watch a movie but I can't hear it over Teddy's music. I sigh in frustration, why can't she be like a normal eighteen-year-old girl and go get wasted every night. No, she's got to be the one that keeps grudges, plots revenge and races illegally. If it wasn't for Ben, Teddy would be normal. Teddy wouldn't be a street racer and Teddy wouldn't have a scar on her left side of her stomach. She would never have noticed Colin and she would have gotten together with Jonas earlier and they might've still been together. But then I might not have met Ruby.
I turn the television off and stare blankly at the screen for a few moments before deciding to do something. I stand up and stretch, I shrug on my leather jacket before exiting the apartment through the front door. I take the elevator to the underground car park and walk to the private garage that Teddy and I share. She's been getting more cars lately. She has about ten in total. While I only have my Evo. But I do have a motorbike now, it was Ryder's. His parents gave it to me because I was close with him when he died. It's a black bike, purely built for racing but I haven't raced it as I don't race, never have.
I lean against a work bench as I flick a text to Blondie, Scarlet and Echo asking them to meet me at the arcade in half an hour. They text back immediately, all agreeing to come. I smile as I throw a leg over Ryder's bike and put the key in the ignition. I turn the key and the bike roars to life beneath me. I love the sound of motorbikes. I drive out of the garage, closing the automatic door behind me. I take the quickest way to the arcade across town. I weave through the traffic. Soon I am accompanied by three other similar bikes. One waves at me, there is a tattoo on her wrist, so I know it is Echo. I wave back before picking up the speed, challenging her.
Echo gets the hint and accelerates too. She pulls up next to me. We ride side by side, Blondie and Scarlet following close behind. We pull into the parking lot and I kill the engine and get off but not before I flick the stand down. Hey Levi." Echo pulls me into a hug. I'm close with Scarlet and Blondie but Echo and I are definitely closer.
"Hey Echo." I smile and pull away from the embrace. "Thanks guys for coming, I had to get out of the apartment. Teddy is driving me crazy, she always has loud music playing, she hardly ever leaves her room and she doesn't talk to me anymore. She's meant to be my twin, we're meant to be close and we're meant to tell each other everything." I say scratching my neck.
"I'm sure she'll be fine when she's through this phase." Scarlet comforts me. "Anyway, we should go inside, it's cold out here and I don't fancy getting sick." She hugs herself and shivers. I nod and lead the way inside. "So you're leaving to go back to New Zealand soon?" Scarlet asks.
"Yeah, flight is booked for November 28th. Holy shit, that's only a month away. Wow time just seems to fly by these days." I smirk and head towards the bike racing game. We go around playing the different games and soon it is two o'clock in the morning and the arcade is kicking us out so that they can shut. "I don't want to home yet." I whine. Echo nudges my shoulder and Blondie snorts in amusement. "What?"
"Normal people are generally asleep at this time and you, you don't want to go home? Levi I'm tired, can we please go back to our apartment building?" Blondie asks tugging on my sleeve, pulling puppy dog eyes. I sigh in defeat, I guess I can't keep these girls out here any longer since the only reason we're out is that I don't want to be home.
"Fine." I sigh and lead them back outside where we left our bikes earlier. "Thanks guys for coming to hang." I give them all hugs before putting my helmet on and getting on my bike. The girls do the same and follow my lead down the road in the direction of the apartment building we all live in. I drive my bike in a different entrance to them but meet them at the elevator. We wait for the doors to open so we can go up.
What I don't expect is to find Ankoku and Teddy coming down. "Where have you been Levi?" Teddy sneers coldly, her eyes skimming over the three girls standing with me.
"Out," I snap, "where are you going?" I question sharply. She's surprised at how I talked to her. Her glare focus on me.
"Out." She retorts and pushes past me, Ankoku following closely behind her. Teddy quickly turns around and looks at me. "Actually brother, you can come with me." She gives me no chance to argue so I follow reluctantly, dragging my feet slightly. Ankoku strolls next to me like he hasn't got a care in the world.
Teddy leads us into the main garage, to a couple of identical black BMWs. Ankoku gets in one and Teddy motions for me to get into the one she is taking. I sigh, roll my eyes and get in the car. She turns the engine on and straight away deafeningly loud music blasts though the speaker system. Again, I roll my eyes. Teddy has definitely been in this car before, she's always listening to loud music.
"Don't roll your eyes at me Levi. Your habits are annoying too." She seethes and turns the music up louder. I stare aimlessly out the window. There are a lot of people out and about, even at this late hour. Nothing else is said between Teddy and I the entire car ride. We soon stop outside a tall building. Teddy kills the engine and steps out of the car. I quickly follow suit and find myself walking through the chilly night time air.
"Ahead with the plan then?" Ankoku asks as he walks over to us. I frown in confusion. What is the plan?
"Yup, Levi, stay close to me. Keep your head down and stay close to me." Teddy explains.
