Micaela

Zian gave the car keys to the valet and assisted me as we entered the hotel he touches my back from time to time as if to make me feel secure.

I have programmed myself to hate my father pero the moment we arrived at the suite. I felt the need to run to him and embrace him pero pinigilan ko ang sarili ko.

Tumayo ang tatay ko to greet us.

"Good evening Zian." casual na bati nito sa amin. "This is my wife Bella. Masakit na marinig iyon mula sa kanya dahil hindi man lang niya in-acknowledge ang nanay ko before.

I checked out for other people and staff pero parang kaming apat lang ang nasa suite.

"Good evening Senator... Madam..." sagot ni Zian as he extended his hands towards my father.

"This is Micaela..."

"Hello, Micaela...anak." nilapitan ako nito at niyakap ng mahigpit. Hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko. Tumingin ako kay Zian. Tumango lamang ito.

Kumawala ako sa yakap ng tatay ko. I am still confused.

"Excuse me po can I just talk to Zian?" My father nodded.

"Trust me on this Micaela..."

Di po ba we have to discuss Zian's endorsement of your candidacy?"

"We did not arrange this meeting in particular for the candidacy. That is already in the process with Marinel hija."

This is for you. I- I am sorry na hindi ko sinabi sa'yo ang totoo dahil alam kong hindi ka papayag."

Hinawakan niya ang mga palad ko as if to assure me that everything will be okay.

Hindi ako umimik.

"S-So now that we are all here we might as well start with a good dinner." simula ng tatay ko.

During the course of the dinner, various topics were discussed but none about me something that I felt uncomfortable.

All the while Zian was speaking and talking to them.

"So you are graduating from the university next year Micaela? Ano ang plano mo?" tanong ni Mrs. Alano.

"Maganda naman po ang offer sa akin ni Zian ma'am as of this time... so I am planning to continue working as his assistant until such time he doesn't need my services."

"Don't call me ma'am. Call me Tita Bella."

"Pero balak ko din pong magtrabaho sa isang news agency in the future."

"That's good to hear. Plano mo ba to proceed with your masters?" Ang tatay ko.

Napatingin ako kay Zian.

"Yes sir."

"Call me tatay Micaela. Just like you used to."
