"So what's with tonight's dinner invitation Zian?" tanong ni Senator Alano.
Nasa isang function room sila ng isang japanese reataurant.
"Sorry for the short notice Senator Alano, Madam Bella."
"Is this all about the candidacy? your endorsement? don't tell me you are backing out?"
Hinawakan ni Zian ang kamay ni Micaela.
Nagkatinginan ang mag-asawang Alano.
"So?" tanong ng senador.
"After I picked up Micaela from your house last Sunday, I admit we had a little fight the night before." tumingin ito sa dalaga.
"And are you firing her?" si Madam Bella.
"Of course not Madam, I would not hold her hand like this if I am to fire her."
"Hindi ko po nasabi sa inyo I was admitted in the hospital... overnight lang naman." si Micaela.
"What happened?" tanong ng ama nito.
"Nahilo po kasi ako at saka nagsuka eventually nag collapse. and we found out that..." Micaela explained while Zian is still holding her hand.
"I get it! I get it!" excited na sabi ni Madam Bella.
"Micaela, you are pregnant?" tanong nito. "Mike we are going to be grandparents!" dama ang excitement sa boses nito.
"Wait." sabi ng senador. "How come?! I mean...."
"Senator, Mrs. Alano. I am asking for your blessing. I am asking for your daughter's hands in marriage."
Nagulat si Micaela. "Zian..." Pinisil ni Zian ang palad nito.
"Teka lang. Naguguluhan ako." sabi ng senador.
"Ano ang magulo Mike? Si Micaela at si Zian ay magkaka baby na. Lolo ka na." si Mrs. Alano.
"Okay. Gusto mong pakasalan si Micaela."
"I love your daughter Senator. The very first time she set foot into my office. Minahal ko na siya. That is why I want to spend the rest of my life with her."
"Masyado yatang mabilis."
"How many weeks Micaela?"
"Six weeks Tita Bella."
"Very well as long as you can promise me na hindi mo lolokohin at sasaktan ang anak ko and that you will really love her, I give you my blessing." sagot ng senador.
"Pero pwede bang sa atin na muna? I still would like to host a welcome party for my daughter before the engagement."
"Salamat po Senator..."
"Call me tatay. Yan ang tawag ni Micaela sa akin." Kinamayan nito ang binata.
"Welcome to the family Zian." Bella gave Zian a warm hug.
